Did someone say Mexican food? How about frijoles barrachos?

Put 1/2 lb of pinto beans in a pot, cover by about 2 inches with water, and bring to a boil with 1/2 of a large white onion, diced.
Once boiling, lower the heat to a simmer, partially cover the pot, and simmer gently for 2 hours.
Meanwhile, dice the other half of the onion and mince 1-2 serrano peppers, along with 4-6 strips of bacon.
Fry the minced bacon until crisp, then remove from the pan with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Add the onion and the peppers to the bacon grease left in the pan and sweat until the onions are translucent, a little color is okay.
After the beans have simmered for 2 hours, add the onions and the peppers, and enough salt that the broth tastes salty, simmer another 30 minutes or so, adding more water if it's below the level of the beans.
Once the beans are tender, usually after 2 1/2 hours total, check the salt again and adjust to taste, and finish with chopped cilantro, the reserved bacon, and a generous shot of tequila.

Does anyone have a recipe for a cherry flavoured cocktail? I remember having one at a cocktail bar and they included mashed cherries and lemons, amaretto liqueur, cherry marnier and other stuff, then topped up with lemonade. It contained about five different liqueurs. I got drunk from one glass. But then, I probably drank it too fast.

Speaking of drink recipes, I wish I knew how to make this drink we used to always get back in about 86. It was a watermelon shooter. No clue what was in it but it rocked. I'd make it if I could.
