Why's everyone using the "stone" system here? Is it British?

What is a stone in comparison to pounds? I myself weigh approx. 130lbs. and am 5'4" tall but I look lighter than I am due to the way I carry my weight.

Yes, it's British. One stone is equivalent to 14 lbs or 6.35 kg.

Some British folk will say, "I am 10 stone and 8 pounds" meaning they are 148 pounds or 67 kg.

I'm 6'2" and 230 lbs. I have enough muscle that I don't have flabby arms or saggy man-boobs yet though.
