I'm Stefan, I live in Sydney Australia and all my friends are NTs and sometimes we fight and don't get along but they're cool, and apart from them I hate NTs, they are the most separate thing from me, they're malicious and they're animals.

I believe AS is nothing short of evolution and a gift, and the subject of mush NT jealousy. I need to hang out with some aspies before I f*****g kill myself.

why cant there be a revolution where aspies run the world?

Hello, my name is Xon. I am 19 years old and attending a high-tier research college. I don't have an Asperger's diagnosis but I see a lot of the Asperger's symptoms in myself. I am looking for online friends primarily. If you would like to be an online friend of mine and use Facebook.com, search for "Nacan Lerany."

Well, I'm Sam, 52 in the Chicago area.

I'm a computer programmer (systems architect), thankfully telecommuting from home.

My interests are Computers, Technology, TV, Movies and SF.

Just a few days ago, after realizing that calling myself a sociopath for some time wasn't quite right, I did some searching, and bam, found myself looking at myself in all the descriptions, tests and expressions of Aspergers.

When I was 40, I was (finally) diagnosed as chronically depressed (thankfully now fully under control thanks to better living through chemestry), as well as ADD. Getting treated for depression was a life changing event. It let me stop feeling bad about how square peg and self center I am.

I never did get treatment for the ADD, since I soon came to believe it actually helps me in my occupation. It seems that being an aspie also helps. Thinking in pictures, patterns and hyperfocus and what I call wide scope are all good for work.

That these things make for a life in a cave, a hermit, without feelings for the few people who are around me... well. Not so much.

The paradox is that I want human warmth... Even though I have no idea how to either return it, or recognize it.

Hi. I'm 28 years old, a writer originally from Australia (NSW, Victoria, Tassie) but I've also lived in Japan and now living in Queenstown, New Zealand. I take a long time to make proper friends and when I do, they don't stay long. (This is a tourist town, after all. Nobody stays long.)

My special interests are languages, mythology, movies, anime and other "otaku" subjects. I love to write, draw, sing and play music. I don't like public places, especially pubs and clubs. (And I will look through earlier posts on this thread -- it's just that reading from computer screens makes me tired.)

... And I like letters better than emails.

Hey let me know if you know what GRE scores LIS schools seem to average in... I can't seem to find it out. Even after waiting patiently in person at UIUC. I'm currently working on my apps now.

I'm Mike, 20 going on 21, from New Brunswick, NJ. I was diagnosed with AS at the age of 11, and since then I've come a long way in finding who I really am. I'm trying my best to embrace the world, make friends, and find my place in society, without losing my individuality.

I'm going into my fourth (should be last) year at Rutgers University. I'm majoring in Journalism and Media studies, with a focus on broadcasting. I currently do the news at my college's radio station, and I have plans to go into radio as a news man, DJ or announcer. I wouldn't mind - actually, scratch that, I'd love to be a TV announcer (especially on a game show), but I'm a bit camera-shy. Of course, as a backup in case the broadcasting thing doesn't work out, I'm planning to get a master's degree in library science.

Personality-wise, I'm definately quirky, but what else would you expect from one of our kind? I'm a little shy, a little goofy, some would say a little creepy, but I would hope that I wouldn't get that kind of reception here. My interests are eccentric to say the least - game shows, movie/TV studio logos, the soft drink industry, fire alarms, radio airplay charts, etc. Of course, I also love music - everything from modern alternative rock to showtunes to classical and even some good ol' pop.

So, if you want to get to know me more, feel free to IM me.

Johnny Depp is like... god... *drool* brilliant actor (I love his movies.. and him  ) I'm looking for some aspie friends who have similar intrests and perhaps that live in the same area (not a must).

Feel free to send me a message!

I recently read a Laurel K Hamilton book, though not an Anita Blake one. I enjoyed it and plan on reading Anita Blake one another time.

I'm a 27 yr old woman who lives in Iowa..though I may be moving within the year. I haven't been diagnosed, but from reading forums, books, and such, I can relate to many of the experiences, and know many of the frustrations.
I have a horrible time with social interaction, and often wish I didn't have to have conversations. I often like to be alone, but then their are times when I really don't want to be.. which sucks.
Lots of times I don't understand why people are interested in the things they are interested in, and think my interests are so strange?!
I enjoy computer programming, and work as a data analyst currently. I also like reading, and libraries. And lots of other stuff. If anyone else out there is enjoying an Iowa winter right now feel free to send me an email.

I'm a 36-year-old Canadian, and I was recently diagnosed with AS. I like TV, especially Star Trek and CSI (I suspect a whole lot of Aspies are Trek fans). My favourite movies are Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. I have a pretty big collection of Robert Ludlum novels, although not too many are from the '90s onward. I like to read, both in English and en français. That's about it.

I'm a 21 year old male living in B.C, Canada and was diagnosed with AS at 17. Up until quite recently I was working on a university degree but am in the process of taking a break due to stress and social anxiety. My interests include music ('metal' being my favorite genre), reading about pre-Christian mythologies, travelling, watching a good movie, camping, going for long drives on my own etc. I'm quite glad I came across WP as it's quite 'comforting' (maybe not the right word) to know that there are indeed other people out there who have had similar experiences and face many of the same problems as me. Misery loves company right! :P

If there's anyone out there who thinks they can put up with me and wants to chat feel free to shoot me a pm! :P

24 year old male living in Bathurst, NB Canada. Moving to Moncton, NB in the near future due to employment. Diagnosed with AS at the age of 17, went through living heck till age 19. I have a passion for computers, cars (anything domestic), traveling, music (New-Age, Kraftwerk, Tanita Tikaram)

Can't stand Reality TV (or TV in general), I do watch movies, but rarely support Hollywood stuff.
I'm a field service computer technician and a part-time student working on my Bachelor of Arts via online courses. I love to watch hockey, read books, do a bit of creative writing every now and then.

AS has affected me socially and morally (I've had my fair share of panic attacks!) I've learned to think differently and more creatively, I used to be a kid genius having a severe lack of motor skills, hence, I have failed gym and I am probably the complete opposite of a social butterfly with strangers.

If anyone wants to chat, leave me a PM and I'll send you either my e-mail or Messenger.
Cheers,
Bruno

I'm a 21 year old female from the U.S. Some of my interests are: visual arts, reading philosophy, about consciousness, evolution, thematic history, introspective psychology, researching random information on the internet, trying to figure out what's behind obscurantist mysteries, reading the dictionary, attempting to systematize or assemble all incoming data into some coherent whole when not shamelessly diverting my faculties with the culture industry's evil zombie making media! None of this makes of me a great conversationalist, much to my regret, but there might still be some hope in deriving at least a little distraction, and maybe better things as time yields familiarity--or so is the expectation certain novels have placed in my mind. PM me if any of it sounds interesting.
