One of my friends has big pointy ears that are especially noticble when he has a short haircut. He told me people judge him negatively because of it sometimes.

Do you think it's stupid to judge people on the shape/size of there ears :?

I used to get called wing nut when I was a kid because of my ears but it never bothered me and it's not followed me into adulthood

I don't think it's fair to judge a person based on big pointed ears

How big are they btw

There fairly big. I don't get how having big ears would deem a person untrustworthy or deviant.

My ears are fairly small but there still pointy in shape like elf ears. I have a lazy eye and a broken nose so people will judge me on those disfigurement as well

I think ears are fantastic I do

They're one of my favourite things

I would said big ears make a person look more innocent but that's just me

Humans just love to be nasty to someone for having something different about them. That's why so many people have body dysmorphic disorder and become addicted to plastic surgery.

Extra large ears can be a source of insult ammunition, for people who make fun of other people for looking different.

making fun of people because of any bit of their appearance or their behavior, or any other thing is aggression and not funny, cute, entertaining, helpful, or supportive. ( in other words, people who do that are behaving like jerks!) ;)

If people are making nasty comments to your friend about his ears, they're not judging him negatively, they're being bullies and a-holes. It's actually unlikely that anyone is judging him because of his ears. Does he really know that they are or he is just feeling self-conscious? I don't think anyone rational or reasonable would judge someone based on that. Most of the time, when we think that other people are judging us for something like that, we are just projecting and they're not thinking about us at all.

It's not okay to judge someone negatively based on how they look.
Imo it's also not okay to judge someone positively based on how they look. I constantly hear people say "you're very tall" as if I didn't know that. They think it's a compliment but I hate being tall and even if I didn't, I've already heard it ten times today. I don't want people commenting on my body regardless of intention.
Sorry that was a digression but my point is no, no one should judge you based on your body even if they mean well, which usually they don't.

My mother wanted to pin back my ears. My father said no.
