Any of you look at the online maps to find somplace or to fiddle around with?

I have been reading road maps since I was small so it has been a big hobby or habit of mine.

I chose Google because of its live map scrolling and satellite images.

The pinpoint of places you want to look for may not be accurate but at least the ability to zoom in and out without too much time wasted on loading the map pages piece by piece makes it worthwhile.

And the satellite images are usually from awhile back and some areas are not fully clear. You can't even see them when you zoom completely in.

It's still in beta but it looks good though

Maps.... (composes himself) :D

Ok..... I have also been obsessed with maps since I was a kid (as some here already know, lol)

I use Google Maps a fair bit, and also Multimap.com - the latter is brilliant as there is an aerial photo view in addition to the Ordnance Survey drill down. Great stuff. 8)

I ♥ Google Maps, simply for the dynamic scrolling. Makes things so much easier to decipher, for someone who has enough trouble getting oriented as it is!

I enjoy the local copy map programs the online ones are fun to play with. But the local ones draw faster and have measuring tools :D

oh boy.

Like Dunc, I have been interested in maps since a very young age. I do like Mapquest but I am willing to try out new services if they are better :D

Google maps IS so cool.

Yeah, I also like that when you type for a place, address city, zip code or street, or ask for directions. Well I enjoy the fact that only the square frame which the map is in loads rather than the whole page. Same goes for zooming in as only the map loads.

I like the choice of using either clicking the buttons on screen to scrool and zoom; or use the keyboard buttons and mouse. It is good to use the up, down, left, and right keys to scroll while using the + and - keys to zoom in.

Using the mouse to drag and scroll and double clicking a spot on the map to place it to the center is a welcomed goody also.
