Yes, I'm accused of being abrupt all the time. Especially when I'm busy working on something. Unlike most people, I can't work on something and carry a decent conversation at the same time. I have to drop everything to talk to them, or else my conversations go like:

Them: "Hey, what's up?"
Me: "Hmmph."
Them: What are you working on?"
Me: "The....this..website.. search function."
Them: "Uhh..cool, how's it coming along?"
Me: "Dunnoworkingonitnow."
Them: "GEEEEEZ why are you so rude, I was just trying to keep you company!"

I'm not consciously trying to be rude (usually), I just can't juggle work and talking at the same time.

Yea I don't condemn the discussion of third parties without their presence however when I suspect that third party is me I do wish that someone might have the guts to confront me about whatever such problem they have rather than acting weird and making me wonder.

I was on a course a couple years ago, and during one of the lunch breaks or something, I was sitting inside half reading a book, half sort of talking to the tutor, and all of a sudden she said to me "Has anyone ever told you you're really blunt?". I wasn't quite sure how to respond to that, so I pretended it was a compliment and said thanks.
