Hasn't it been raised yet? I thought that I heard it was. From $5.50 to $6.15.

Do you mean in the United States? I thought it varied depending on which state you're in.

FYI, EvilWalks, the minimum wage in the United States has been raised from $5.15 to $6.00. Welcome to the board, I'm Jason Larsen by the way.

Yes sir, Nathan. The minumum wage has increased from $5.15 to $6.00. If you watched your local news in the United States, you heard just before "New Year's Rockin' Eve" that it would be increased as of midnight that night. ABC reported the story, and most teenagers who had to have working papers filled out were quite happy. This is especially true since children under 18 can't pay taxes, so the news was quite a thrill for them.

That, I'm not sure of.

It says on my profile that I am from Seattle, Washington but my actual location is New York. I have chosen not to change it out of respect for the city.

Is there like some kind of site that lists the minumum wages for states in the US?

Note in New York State Min wage 6.00 USD per hour will go up to 6.75 USD on Jan 1, 2006. If the state has a higher rate that is what you get paid As for other States most still use the fed rate of 5.15 usd per hour.

So you must be talking about New York State than.

I started at McDonald's at the beginning of the summer and I'm getting paid $5.50 an hour right now. I assume that's minimum wage here (In case you didn't figure out from my screen name, I'm in PA), but according to my employee handbook, as long as I get a passing rating in inspection this upcoming month, I am guaranteed a raise of at least a nickel an hour.
