Website design idea.
The logo spins, and would have the website name in the middle circle.
The background itself was really fun to make to. I like doing abstract patterns like that in 3dsm.
Sort of reminds me of the Giant's Causeway now that I think of it though.

Something I drew up in two seconds on my cheap@$$ digital art programs(using stretchy lines because I cheat, but at least I did it without reference and it looks like some sort of theropod). Once my wacom tablet and corel painter software arrive next week, I'll color it, shade it, add a body, and if I feel brave enough, add a feather beard. So yes. This is a very early WIP. I plan on using it as the cover of my first electronic EP whenever I end up finishing it. And that white fringe around the image'll be gone.

HI brandon (and everyone else following this brilliant thread)

just thought id say that i really like the art you have created. its very interesting to see the sketches in pencil and the more colourful versions. looks like you are becoming a real expert on all things african! great to see

keep up the great work.

ive been super impressed by so much of the art here. its very inspiring to know other people just cant help but create new works.

oh. and brandon... it came to mind that one of my favourite albums might have artwork that you would enjoy...

have a look for the cover work from the Miles Davis (1970's Electric Jazz albums....)

"b*****s Brew"

.... and Live album...

"Live Evil"

the artwork is astounding and something i could look at for hours. I hope to find some high quality prints or posters of the artwork... so others can see it too (CD covers are just too small to display properly. The music is fantastic too. very "worldy". lots of percussion and strange haunting sounds. Its been discribed as "Jungle Music"... in the way it can remind you of lost worlds and hidden exotic places.

anyway... if you do see them. let me know what you think. perhaps they will inspire you to do more african art.

R
