I think the point is we should create it ourselves. No heaven above means all you hypocrites don't get a special place to go regardless of how much you hate and judge others. There is no special perfect place for you...and the real goal should be peace on earth. Not being a false yuppie lennon fan who never even listened to a single one of his songs but thought it was 'hip' to wear a shirt of him because they heard 30 seconds of Imagine.

It seems the majority of WP members are not religious. The lyrics of that song, imagine no Heaven, no Hell, all the people "living for today" do remind me of a saying something like: "One of the devil's greatest achievements--convincing people that he doesn't exist."

The Beatles is one of my favorite bands.

Me to, I love the Beatles.

John Lennon was advocating atheism (the elephant in the room that no one acknowledges though its plain as day in the song), and is saying that we could have peace if only we stopped clinging to causes like ideologies, countries, and religions to fight about.

The lyrics are pretty damned obvious.

And somebody killed him for saying these things....like WTF.

It's a nice song but the lyrics are very unrealistic in my opinion.

I just did a bit of research. Mark David Chapman was a devout Christian who wanted to kill Lennon over Lennon's dislike of Christianity, as well as Lennon's now-infamous "more popular than Jesus" comment.

It's unrealistic because we collectively don't want to make it a reality.

I know, that's why its messed up...I heard the guy also claimed he was a 'fan', well a pretty twisted fan to kill the guy you are a fan of. I think that was one of my first introductions into how messed up the world can be. When I was a kid I really enjoyed the beatles I still enjoy them and I think its really sad John Lennon was killed...Imagine is a great song who the hell kills someone over a song like that?(I know the song was not the only reason but still).

I mostly listen to metal but yeah no excuse for killing John Lennon...and that a**hole is trying to get parole this year apparently according to wikipedia so yeah he's still alive hopefully he gets denied who wants John Lennon's murderer walking free on the streets?

That's just it. Chapman was definitely sanity impaired, and occasionally delusional. At some points he seems to have thought that he was Lennon, and that the real Lennon was an imposter. Other times he seems to have been a dislillusioned fan who turned on his idol because the religion issue in the song "Imagine".Salena was also murdered by a fan lady (who had become an employee of the rising star, but who also embezzeled from her idol). Crazy s**t happens.

According to the New Testament, at least, the Man Reported with a Name of Jesus Professed that the Kingdom
of Heaven is at Hand in this Generation, now. In addition, he didn't Believe in the Religious Rules Before and
Reduced them to Two Rules all about Love where at Most Loving Parameters; one Loves their Enemy as
their Self and Neighbor with the Same Zeal as they Love the all Being God with no Name from Alpha
thru Omega all that is; while consuming no other Human with Harm. And sure, as reported this fulfills
all the other Human Idols of Written Rules and Instructions and other Words. Also, to top it all off he
Directed His Disciples to Empty their Pockets and Spread a Gospel of Love to those Living in
the Surrounding Countryside; living off the Generosity of others, and just Shaking
the Unwanted Dust off their Sandals in Places they were not welcome, moving
on to Greener Meadows of Love. Yes, now, this sounds a whole Lot like John
Lennon's Dream of 'Imagine' too. And Considering, John 14:12, it's too bad
that the Dude who killed him was both Mentally Ill and Ignorant of that Verse Fulfilled
that Clearly gave the Beatles the Authority from 'Jesus' to make Life all about Love. Now here's
a 'thing'; it is as possible to Create an Existence of Love now as it was then. But in Large Group
Effort, Hell no; you'll be lucky if you can and will get 12 Folks Together like the Homeless Folks you will find
Under Bridges who follow precisely the Same Jesus Direction now. But it Happens and Lord knows for those
who Believe in a God of Words and other Idols of Human Abstract Constructs above and Beyond the Human
Altruistic Nature of Love, the Karma is all theirs as a sow and reap of Life. There is no escaping the Altruism
of Human Love and the Kingdom of Love as Heaven now, except for those 'Camels' in Written Words as Idols
and other Human Tools who no longer can and will Fit themselves in the all Feeling Sensing Eye of Love, now,
back into Simple Moving Connecting and Co-Creating Love, away from Tools that and who have Become Human
away
from Love.
They talked about
this in Catholic Church
today and the Catholic Priest
almost gets it but he still believes
there is a Better Heaven as Love After Death like a Magic Kingdom.
There is nothing rational about that at all; in fact, it's literally Insanity.
No Different than the Belief that all that is God will fit into one Man Named Jesus;
Part Will; That's enough, except for anyone who is Beyond Infinitely Greedy (Like a Trump Jesus).
