I think it's very interesting to read about your story. You said you had something in common with me, but as of my current situation we are at different places. I said I have experienced Christ consciousness. I might be insane, and many have viewed me as that, but there are clearly different flavors of insanity. I'll keep seeking my truth, and neither being called insane nor dead hearted soul obstructs my search for truth. Your story reminds me of Matisyahu, who went from this style:

Image

to this style:

Image

supposedly because he saw the light. I remain open to you having more wisdom than me as I said before, and as I said you are older than me. But personally I remain skeptical of anything that involves dance clubs and lots of party-dressed make-up wearing girls, for my own private reasons.

Please remember that regardless of what you are now, I WAS one for years, per a dead hearted soul before, so i too can SYMPATHETICALLY identify with that, and i was NOT DIRECTING THAT COMMENT AT YOU, AS WHETHER or not you yourself, 'see' yourself as insane or a dead hearted soul that is NOT WHAT i intuitively, through the power of cognitive empathy, 'SEE' through your words in my perception of a human being, here. But if you say you are and believe you are, I will not dispute what you perceive as true about you.

And please remember too, 'never judge a book by its cover'.

In other words as metaphor only please, 'Yogi's can come down from the Mountain and Play'

IN other words, everything the i of I does IS ONLY ACT OF ME As one '@LEAST'.

And i for ONE do EGO in the ART OF ZEN AS I FOR one as metaphor too.

And to be clear too, the change in global human consciousness per the metaphor of 'cosmic consciousness', as i am very careful here to use quotes whenever I am using a common term as metaphor and/or analogy, is likely at least, or potentially all in part, due to a 'Hive of minds' better connected by broadband easily accessible and relatively cheap avenues of Internet connectivity in ways of Blogs, Facebook, etc. etc. etc. etc. and the list of those potential human avenues of connectivity go on.

AND the old technological mainstays and other innovations of current mass communication/inter-connective human tools/byproducts of culture.

And that my friend is what I meant by quotes around 'feeling it in the air'.

Science uses rigid experiments in scientific method and philosophy 'simply' uses human logic or 'true common sense', in that sense of logic.

And furthermore, as far as my talk about NOW being only NOW, per the human mind, with no distance, space or time, it is 'our' human mind that filters all those abstract constructs as 'our' reality and before that happens they do not exist in 'our' mind alone. So in other words, 'we' learn our reality in NOW, regardless of the physical reality that exists.

And Synchronicity, is a term used by CARL JUNG and others for psychological meaningful 'Acausal' humanly observed 'physical world' coincidences in life that likely, at least in part, result from how one's unique mind develops and filters reality, as well as individual life experiences, as such.

And this is part of why 'all' 'our' realities are truly different in manifestation but not so much at core of human potential.

I can go into a bar and do my art of centering my 'soul' (note the quote marks) with 200 screaming COLLEGE AGE kids and EXTREMELY LOUD MUSIC BUT THE EAR PLUGS AND SHADES DO TEND to filter out some of the cultural noise, and leaves me with the 'rhythms of soul', to further expand my conscious awareness through MOVING EXTREMELY disciplined meditation.

MY WIFE doesn't wear makeup and i prefer people that way per personal taste, but art is ART, and if someone wants to make themselves UP in imagination of ART by wearing MAKE up, MORE POWER TO 'EM IS WHAT I SAY.

But again my wife is so beautiful, AND LOVED SO WELL, she has no 'reason' to wear it. But again, if she wanted to ART HERSELF UP LIKE that, I WOULD love her JUST THE SAME.

When people personally attack me they ARE GOING TO GET WIT FROM ME, until someone asks me a serious, and well thought out question like you just did here.

But again, with me IN everything you see here ON THE INTERNET, never assume the 'cover of ego' OF I is what i am before you ask, if you will, of course. :)

As again EGO, Is the I of i that i FOR one practice, as ZEN ART as I.

In other words, the core of I that is i IS USING RELATIVE FREE WILL WHEN i does I.

To break it down either further:

i is the OBSERVER, DIRECTOR, PRODUCER, AND ACTOR AS I.

i (the feeling part of me) hope that helps to both clarify and validate the meanings in the the sometimes complex art of language that i for one practice as ZEN ART TOO, IN WAYS OF I PER EGO TOO. :)

Philosophy is much more complicated than science, as one truly has to use their 'FULLER MIND' TO PRACTICE 'it' as ZEN ART TOO. :)

IN OTHER WORDS THE ART OF CRITICAL CONSCIOUSNESS PRACTICED AS SCIENCE TOO.

OR THE SCIENCE OF CRITICAL THINKING PRACTICED AS ART TOO.

'LIKE A DRAGON SWALLOWING ITS TAIL/tale' THE CYCLE of human potential goes on.....

(: "quote by me from comment above and below here" ;)

And by the way, here is some more synchronicity for me in YouTube video way, associated with this conversation, but as how synchronicity is suggested to work, highly unlikely it has any Acausal connecting principle psychologically meaningful essence to you.

But WHO knows what IS TRULY POSSIBLE IN LIFE.

AS USUAL, i FOR one WILL KEEP my i and/or Mind open. :)

So smiles and learn on, if you will. ;)

As that is what i continue to practice as a ZEN ART of PHILOSOPHY TOO.

AND SCIENCE TOO. :)

@aghogday

Yeah, I agree that it's probably in many cases not worthwhile to judge a book by its cover. But in the case with Matisyahu and his change of music genre and clothing style, I read somewhere he himself saying that it was because he had seen the light or something like that.

This Christian paradigm, which is how I currently view it, is something I feel an instinctive skepticism towards. I have no problem whatsoever to see how Catholicism sliding into Protestantism would keep sliding into rave clubs and beyond. And as of now that's not my cup of tea. I won't elaborate on my personal theorizing around this anymore here because that's got little to do with science, one might think, although there is a connection.

Trust me, it's even funnier AND MORE AWESOME, AS REPORTED BY literally hundreds of others, when an FBI/MILITARY/ LAW Enforcement Agent LOOKING Poker FACE 232LB muscular dude does it in shorts and T-shirt in the middle of the Winter and GETS AWAY WITH IT EVERY TIME BY THE SKIN OF his wit. ;)

It's the humor of incongruence AT ITS BEST.

Particularly in a 'Footloose' TOWN LIKE MINE.

THE CITY of Pensacola where I often do this, is assessed as the WORST PLACE IN THE U.S. to get away with 'HIPSTER STUFF' anywhere in the United States of America, per the so-called land of THE brave and free.

http://mic.com/articles/76309/if-you-can-t-stand-hipsters-these-11-cities-are-for-you

And truly without the prowess of a pro-athlete someone would have probably beat the crap out of me, by now, if they are HA ha! brave enough to do it.

Freedom is not free!

But it dam SURE RULES WHEN one finds a way to do IT and AND gets away with it SCOTT FREE ('BraveHeart' Reference)!

AND no, I'm not Scottish but close enough with Northern European and American Indian totally FREE HERITAGE!

And haha! SOME people think they can break my spirit with their silly little words of personal attack here.

They 'AIN'T SEEN NOTHING' OF THE REAL FRED IN REAL LIFE NOW.

NOR WOULD THEY dare to do it, IF THE 'REDNECKS' in PF (Pensacola FL) AT 300LBS ARE TOO SCARED TO do IT NOW, IN REAL LIFE among thousands of flesh and blood humans now, I dance with or WITHOUT, almost everyday, in the general public as such, TO AN average of around 8 miles a day, when I go dancing 'with' them.

Yes! I continue to PERFECT THE PRACTICE OF THE SCIENCE, yes science, per 'wRite' on TOPIC here, OF HUMAN ART FREEDOM AS heART NOW.

NAH, NOT JUST IN WORDS; IN THE REAL DANCE AND SONG WALK OF LIFE!.. :)

@aghogday

Did you not experience any benefits at all during that period when you had little emotion? Because I have experienced advantages of having less emotion. Also, you seem to equate low emotion and low empathy to having a dead soul, I'm not sure that's an accurate conclusion. That video is quite appropriate in this thread for several reasons now that I think about it. Anyway, I could discuss tons of things about this, but a) it's not the topic of the thread and b) your mind is made up, you have found your heaven and whatnot, so that's all that matters to you now it seems, thus no point discussing it really.

Yes, I think the video is appropriate and on topic.

And yes, of course there was an advantage of not experiencing emotion, as I left the emotion of illusory fear behind and rebuilt the pro-social ones that allow me better to both Connect and Understand the 'heard' OF herd of Human Beings at large.

I look to Mother Nature FOR ALL MY ANSWERS, and 'we', AS MOST HEALTHY HUMANS, are evolved with emotions for survival, and there really is no question about that, unless one is under the illusion that Mother Nature and our Human Nature does not rule.

They do rule and to regulate HUMAN EMOTION for greater purposes is no greater purpose than I personally knowNOW.

So yeah, I disagree with Buddhism, mainstream ZEN and traditional Christianity/ISLAM too, as it is practiced in 'our' modern days, overall.

But on the other hand, I agree with the majority of it, and use IT ALL TO THE ADVANTAGE OF UNCONDITIONAL LOVE in WHAT I KNOW NOW to most definitely be the greatest human evolved power, in exercising IT, both innately and as a cultural environmental practice, for the best of all lives I know now, in my human life, at least. :)

And of course tHere ARE different paths and different journeys for all human beings.

I just relate my experience and expect no one else to either follow it or like it.

But of course, MOST healthy humans are evolved to share what helps them and potentially others, and what they achieve in life, so that is what I naturally do too, per Mother Nature TRUE, as what I understand IS THE ONE TRUE GOD OF ALL THAT IS. :)

And yes, overall, science does agree with this, to stay on topic. ;)

Jeez, you don't give up do you?

To be honest I read very little of all those funnily spaced blocks of text that ALL OF A SUDDEN START SHOUTING AT MY CONCENTRATION and then drown my thoughts WITH THEIR SHEER VOLUME.
But.. I made the effort on this one
And I can't make heads or tails of it

This would be because you are not a self realised superman like aghogday, as for not reading a book by its cover, aghogday we have seen deep into the book and it would appear without the requested evidence that what we are seeing is one mammoth bit of self delusion.

Well I can but a lot of the stuff you are on about is so esoteric by nature and esoteric is not compatible with science full stop.
And no I don't venerate science, I do have a phobia regarding the western medical establishment and am generally very wary of anything alternative too.

You might find this interesting though

@DentArthurDent
Poor Superman, he only learnt to care when he had to didn't he now?
My evidence for Chinese meds is objective but empirical nonetheless.
In so far that I turned my back on western some 30 years ago and still here despite the abuse I have subjected my body and mind to. And still do to some degree.
Problem with us humans is that we only learn in hindsight from our mistakes.
Most of us anyway.
Some never do though
Western medicine wants to treat my body like a machine.
I will let them.
The day they figure out the variables involved

On this particular experience, anhedonia is often associated with depression, but almost has a life of its own. I had it for a long while, with and without depression. I still get it occasionally, and on some level it's almost always with me now.

For those who don't know, anhedonia is the inability to get joy from things, even from the things you would ordinarily love (hobbies, family, beauty, sex, comedy, a good read, music, thinking.. whatever). According to what I've read, it's usually an indicator of depression, but I've noticed it at times when I wouldn't call myself depressed.

Sorry if that's OT, but as for the science of psychology, sometimes it helps to discover that what you're experiencing has a name and reading about it makes some sense of the experience. I think that's a big part of why any science is good - it helps us make sense of our world.
