That explains it better. I'm quite familiar with ballet and can't imagine how it would mix with martial arts.

There is a kind of karate I've seen in which the participants do it in very slow motion. Is that tai chi?

One night years ago, I was riding around Houston on a bicycle on night with someone who knew Houston quite well. We ran into a friend of his who told us he had something to show us. So the three of us rode over to this one building and took us inside. We then went up to the roof and he showed us the view of downtown from the roof. It was really a nice view.

After a bit, I started walking around to see what else there was to see. On the south side of the building, there was a building in which someone was doing tai chi (I think) in front of a large window. The other two came over and told me that was the Chinese Embassy and pointed out some of the other sights that could be seen including one nightclub that they said was one of the nicest in Houston about a block away. Within a couple of minutes, people started going around shutting all the curtains on that side of the Chinese Embassy.

Afterwards, when we walked to the other side of the building and looked down, the parking lot had two or three police cars in it! When we left they were still there but just watched us ride away without stopping us. Thinking about it later, I realized that they were probably there because we had been seen looking over the roof above the Chinese Embassy.

Yes, what I do has also been recognized as TAI CHI when I do it slowly but sometimes I do it 'lightening' fast too, and I do similar moves associated with ballet in how it is recognized by other folks, in the 'wild', so I call it a mixed martial arts and ballet style as truly there is no specific term for my style, as no one else does everything I do, in doing it.

In other words it is the best approximation currently available to term it unless I come up with my own term, which I care not too, as it changes constantly too, evolving in which ever way the physical intelligence and emotions associated with instinct and intuition take it.

And on top of that it would only be meaningful to me, as I have no plans to teach it, other than what folks see of it who have attempted to copy it at times, not successfully though, as of course they do not have 3 or 4 thousand miles of practice under their belt, AND it changes all the time, with no fore planned guideline or structure. So yes, it is practically impossible to teach it in a structured and guideline way.

And if you are familiar with Jean-Claude Van-Damme he incorporated ballet training with martial arts, and it was effective in increasing his proficiency in martial arts as well as an aesthetically 'pleasing' body form, in balance.

ON the other hand, Chuck Norris just looked like a squared away muscular guy, as he focused on martial arts and strength training only, as far as I know.

And Bruce Lee was one of a kind, kind of like me, but no, of course I am no Bruce Lee, as I've only been doing this for 16 months, at age 54.

But still, if I didn't see it for myself, I would HAVE never fathomed that I could ever do this, before I JUST DID IT! :)

That is what truly makes life amazing to me, the power to do what one used to think is totally impossible.

I no longer think that way about anything, now, in life, for evidenced and documented good reason, at least in part. :)

Arnold doing ballet.

warning: music with foul language.

Don't think for a minute that these dancers are all NTs.
Learning expression through these dance moves has to be a special interest due to the massive amount of training and focus it requires.
It requires a combination of analytical thinking, understanding of physics, and emotional expression.

Thanks for linking that as I did not know that Arnold and Franco did some ballet too, and it is probably part of why they were above their peers in competition.

And yes, I'm moving in on 3000 miles of dance walking in this month of January, which will be a total of 17 months, and this is one special interest that has a huge amount of fringe benefits as I do not even have to talk to folks to connect.

And that seems be good thing, as I cannot wear their minds out that way in machine gun conversation. :)

Truly with enough practice at anything that will set a person ahead, per those who cannot laser focus like that on a special interest.

And I find I get along with the great dancers where I dance, better in general, than the herd of general population, so perhaps there IS some broader autism phenotype among my dance friends that allows them to understand me better as well, as I them. :)
