I'm just asking. You seem to hate the government, and the US military has an especially poor track record when it comes to improving people's lives.

Ronald Reagan one said that the scariest sentence ever is "I'm from the government and I'm here to help." Personally, I think that "I'm from someone else's government and I'm here to help." is much scarier.

Because they are conservative. Every conservative I have seen are all bigoted and closed minded so I don't like any of them. Conservatives are against universal healthcare. Why? Because they don't care about the elderly and the disabled and everyone. They don't care if you get into an accident and get a $200,000 medical bill even with insurance.

Yep.

They constantly bash us over the head with "harsh realities" such as "Apart from the work you do, you have no value."

... but there are some harsh realities that they just can't take. They can't handle the fact that Heaven has never been proven to exist, and it probably doesn't exist. They can't handle the fact that the American west was won by genocidal extremists who used racism and religious fundamentalism to justify their actions.

People are offended by everything nowadays. The only possible way to not offend anybody is to stay perfectly still and not make a sound. In other words, the hyper-sensitivity of the modern world has created a social moral code so demanding that nobody can think, speak and act in a completely moral way. If modern political hypersensitivity were put into law, that would be totalitarianism.

I like the Singapore model of payroll tax funded private HSA (health savings accounts) with government insurance as a backstop, only if someone doesn't have enough funds.

The first money depleted is the person's HSA money, before government insurance kicks in.

It's *your money*, your private account, so you're mindful of how *your money* is being spent. Eventually, you can "cash out" a large % when it gets above a certain level, or let your family inherit it when you die.

That way everyone is forced to pay, and everyone is discouraged from using it.
