Has anyone else experienced this?

Warning; This is a bit gross

-When I bite my nails, I tend to chew them up and swallow them.

-When I pick scabs on my legs, arms, head, or back, I eat them.

-I eat eye crud and mouth crust.

-I sometimes have a craving for Secret deodorant.

Sometimes, when I do this, I don't even notice the taste; I just stick the stuff in my mouth.

I used to eat my fingernails but now I usually bite them and dispose of them. Also I've discovered the wonder of nail clippers, but I'll bite the sharp edges.

I sometimes eat scabs but usually without realising it. Never tried eye crud, as you put it, and earwax tastes awful.

I tend to chew on plastic things, which has taken attention away from my bodily nibbling, but sometimes I'll find the tip of my thumb in my mouth.

Ah well, that's been an interesting post :-)

I eat my fingernails and my scabs, as well as the stuff that forms in your eyes, but I just scratch at mouth crust.

My fingernails are dangerously short however, and recently I've been taking to chewing on every other object. Unfortunately pens last a day or two for me because of this, but teaspoons work wonders.

Luckily for the teaspoons in my house, I don't like the metallic taste! Pens, lids from USB thumb drives, rulers, keyboard keys, and did I mention pens? Nothing like the taste of ink to get your attention :-)

That's gross alright! I never did get people when I saw them doing weird things like that.

That's all right, Julia, I'm guilty of everything on your list except the Secret deodorant (although I seem to be immune from forming mouth crust).
Also I bet you haven't yet tried peeled skin from a sunburn. Nyam Nyam.

I don't eat eye crud, but I do eat mouth crust.
I tried tasting earwax, but that doesn't taste too good.
I don't eat scabs or peeled skin, but I will eat the little pieces that I bite off of hangnails.
Sometimes I still eat my fingernail pieces (but only if I am chewing at my fingers.)
I did love the taste of underarm deoderant, especially the clear liquid stuff inside the bottles with the rolling plastic balls in one end, those were good to lick.

I do eat my boogers though, and instead of blowing my nose when it is runny, I will snort the mucus into my mouth and swallow it.

Hmm...some of this sounds pretty disgusting, but I'm not innocent myself.

I have a really bad habit of biting my nails, and edge of the skin around the nails. I don't eat my nails anymore, but the cuticles are delicious. When I was younger I used bite my toenails too, but they started to become funky tasting as I grew older

I just wish I was limber enough at my age to get my toenail to my mouth (directly). Maybe I need to go back to ballet class?

I saw a medical program about weird eating habits and obsessions. Eating deodorant sounds like it could be pica. People on the programs also ate rocks and cat treats, among other non-food items.
