If he legally owns the Koran copies, then nothing should happen to him. Koran burning is not nice, but it's as free of speech as yours or mine.

Probably the greatest crime in the history of the world?

They did it because "everything we need to know is in the Koran"

So they destroyed all the collected knowledge of the world and it's history.

And this has what bearing, exactly, on life in the modern United States (a place unknown in the time of the Library at Alexandria)?

What? No. It is stupid, it is ret*d and it is lame. But as long as the Quran is your own property, you should be free to burn it (although people should also be free to criticize you after the fact). We also need to be able to burn copies of the bible we own and also let cavemen burn "The God delusion" if they feel so.

agree.....

The trouble with this sort of thing is the trouble it causes and the lives it puts at risk, although, people ARE allowed free speech. In this case it seems free speech could have potentially led to violence, and I think the fault lies with both religion and people who love to stir up hatred.........

Answer: Abolish religion maybe?

Difficult one

Somehow, sometime, between the end of the classical world and the start of the medeaval world the great library at Alexandria got destroyed, but whodunnit is not clear.

It was either destroyed in the fourth centurey AD by local authorities in accords with an Early Christian Roman Emperor's order to destroy all pagan temples ( the Library doubled as a pagan temple). We do know that the physical building was destroyed in that decree, but what happen to the books stored therein isnt clear.

Or, it was done in the seventh Century by an Arab General in the name of Islam.

So, take your pick. The library was torched either by Christians or later by Muslims.

Either way the act was "a faith based initiative"!

No.

Three words: freedom of speech.

Something our dear Islamofascist friends don't understand.

What is the difference between the Koran and the OT anyway? I mean, how much peaceful and loving is the OT in the first place? In the OT there are orders to kill women adulterers, prostitutes and homosexuals, so muslims seem to have followed OT laws as well.

The proposal of the seven laws of Noah.

Only two of the Noahide laws are found in scripture. The other five appear in Talmud.

As for the original question, the Quran is a significantly different text.

If we jailed everyone for being stupid, then we'd all be incarcerated.

No because they live in America. They have a right in free speech. If a minister does this in a Islamic country, he's pretty much dead.

No it's only a book.
They may as well burn all the other holy books as well while they are at it. :P
