This generations Bob Marley with his spiritual music.

currently listening to something i recorded last month.

BTW, i sang a lot today and my high voice is coming back. When not blown out, i can go higher than i thought. So i sang along to some Led Zep (No Quarter, Stairway, Black Dog, Immigrant Song with all screams, Heartbreaker, Thank You, Nobody's Fault, In The Evening, Carouselambra middle section, Dazed And Confused), then did: Ned Kelly, Pretty Good, Quit You Low Down Ways.

Yesterday i also did the same (not feeling creative at the moment) but with:

Since I've Been Loving You
The Battle Of Evermore
That's The Way
Gallows Pole
Kashmir
We're Gonna Groove
Poor Tom
Walter's Walk
Ozone Baby
Darlene
Wearing And Tearing (i think i did)
Whole Lotta Love
Ramble On
Bring It On Home
What Is And What Should Never Be
Celebration Day

Ned Kelly/Poor Ned (my rendition)

it's odd really. i don't know how that voice came out of me. It sounds almost androgynous at times, but at the same time has a bit of a Robert Johnson vibe going on in its inflections (that latter thing WAS intentional though). One bad thing i don't like is how i sing "i don't know what's right or wrong" on the last, fast take, where i wind up sounding a bit like Spongebob instead of what i was going for. Certainly doesn't sound like my speaking voice, except maybe in pitch. Too much of an accent here and too much of a whine. And i downplayed the rasp a bit. And my guitar playing is unfortunately simple strumming on here, but hey at least it stays on time. I did it in two different keys, with the higher key having more character, but also sounding stranger. I'm not complaining though, it worked within the context.

Then there's a much lower, gruffer voice found on another recording i recently did, and the contrast couldn't be greater. It's fun to compare recordings. I also laid down an overdub on the Ned Kelly and i downplayed that vibe a bit by singing it a bit more normal, natural. Sadly there's no multitrack, it was a one mic recording. I used to be able to do basic multitracking with a DECENT mic and not a piece of cr** like now.
