What kind of things for gay teens were you looking for exactly? We have a relationships thing, don't remember seeing anyone gay on there though...But yes, gay rights!

I identify as asexual, personally.

Was there supposed to be anything here for gay teens specifically? I don't recall seeing a subforum that said 'STRAIGHT ASPIE TEENS ONLY' or anything.

Gay aspies exist as much as gay NT's do(I'd put the odds at 1/15 people. I've heard the number as high as 10%). No one is trying to put down the gays here. I'm sure there are a few other homosexuals here.

I'm not sure I have aspergers, or maybe just aspie traits, but I am sure that I'm gay. I'm a lesbian. So, yep, I'm here hehe.

I am attracted to other women but I am open-minded when it comes to love.

Autistic author Donna Williams says " The sexual orientation of those in this group is of a different ratio to the general population with a far higher proportion of bisexual, homosexual, transgender, and asexual people than in the majority population."

I wonder if that has anything to do with the Aspie tendency to have the kinds of social and communication problems that make us unable or unwilling to understand and identify with social norms.

I also identify as asexual. I usually associate it with my autism, but I'm not sure if that's accurate. Not to change the subject of the thread too much, but do other asexuals on the board think autism plays a key factor in your sexuality (or lack thereof)?

Davywavy, I'm not sure about any gay teenagers but I do recall quite a few gay men in general here. I think, politically, there should be a section for GLBT teens/adults, but I doubt there is a large enough population for it to really be active.

That being said, gay men (and women) rock!

So I'm more likely to run into a gay aspie in the wild then a straight one? NEAT! *ahem* excuse me. anyway. I think a general teen forum is all we need. Gay people want equal rights, but by giving them their own forum it signifies them as different and more special. if there was one for gays there would need to be one for straights. Mind you, I also made this argument about the women only forum idea...there should be a men only one two if they were to make a women only one.

umm...So, You think you don't have sexual feelings for either men or women, but then you think you might have sexual feelings for them both...?

Therblig: Actually, looking on the AVEN (Asexuality Visibility and Education Network) forums, it seems that there's a large proportion of Aspies and auties on there. I've heard there seems to be a link between asexuality and autism (which is not to say that all asexuals are autistic or all people with ASDs are asexual, obviously). So yes, I do think my AS plays a part.

That pretty much describes me, too. It's better than being labeled "confused".

nah wait... i'm straight. a lot of my friends are either bi or gay though. i'm in GSA and in drama. what can you expect?

still, i don't think the chances of an aspie being gay as opposed to straight are any different than for NT's... i think someone already said this though. either way we're all awesome!
