It's stunning. Pre- Raphaelite artist?

^Hard to type with your fists. Dunno how some folk manage to look as if they did, when you read what they've written.

Fnord's coffee mug will read "evidence please".

No it's not, surprisingly. Rapunzel is an illustration by contemporary American artist Bill Mayer. (See above).
I had to darken her hair to look more like mine.

Her look is very similar to Cowper's "Vanity" (1907), and I think she was the inspiration for Rapunzel:

I almost used "Vanity" as my avatar but she was harder to crop.

Yes! Vanity is wonderful! It's interesting because I went to school in West Yorkshire England in Cowper Street. It was a poor neighbourhood built in the late 19th century. Perhaps my love of Pre-Raphaelite art was spawned then. I was accepted to study Fine Art at Leeds College Of Art though I opted for nursing which seemed more necessary for humanity than my pursuing my own talent, which isn't that abundant to be honest. I did actually go to art school (externally) and William Morris was my inspiration as was Laura Ashley the dress designer who of course was not Pre-Raphaelite, but for me reminiscent of. I roamed the London streets in her Mutton-Chop sleeve maxi dresses and flowing long skirts as a student.

Is your avatar Pebbles Flintstone, or Little Mermaid?

Little Mermaid I think :)

I couldn't manage to post one of my own choice and she has red hair like me at least. It was available and fit the size requirement which I couldn't navigate for the life of me and didn't know anyone well enough to ask for help.

^I can help with such things and have a smallish collection of cute and not-so-cute avatars which I can send per PM if anyone's interested. Already sized.

Thank you Enviro. I actually tried to post my own picture about a month ago and ended up with no avatar at all for several hours until I worked it out and accepted that it was my destiny to be a red, in your face illustration, which is actually quite characteristic of myself. You can't miss me, lots of red. :P

I can resize photos very quickly if you need help.

Thank you so much Isabella, I definitely will be less proud to ask for assistance in the future.

If you ever want to change it, one of us (myself included) can size it down for you if you send us a link to the pic you want.
