Some of you may know that Yoko Ono (John Lennon's second wife) is Autism Speaks' Global Autism Ambassador or something.

Ono also has a Twitter account, which she mostly uses to wish people of various nationalities a Happy Mother's Day.

I think we could attempt to get Ono to leave her post as the Ambassador if we all Tweeted her on the issue. If we pointed out to her that Autism Speaks is a charity that endorses "curing" a developmental disorder and screening for the disorder in the womb, and that an NT person (or indeed a whole charity of NTs) representing the autistic spectrum isn't very "power to the people", we could get some publicity, and at best win Ono's backing.

There are other "contact" options on her website, but they don't strike me as a direct line to Ms Ono, rather a succession of middle men. It's likely that the Twitter feed isn't run by her either, but I think it would be our best shot.

Thoughts?

That isn't a song about Catholicsm. It is about Mary McCartney, who died when Paul was young.

Similarity then. Virgin Mary, mother Mary and for the hippies Mary Jane.

In Catholicism the preachers are called Father.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blessed_Vi ... n_Catholic)
"Virgin Mary has come to be seen, not only as the Mother of God but also as the Mother of the Church"

Mary Jane

That is noisy and annoying. Not trying to be mean but that song actually makes me want to go away from the area its playing.

10 or so. It's like someone is beeping a horn or a smoke detector beep. Not quite as bad but still ranks comparatively.
