the clock in the laundry was an analogue clock, and it taught me discipline and regularity and reserve.

it never said anything, and it's hands pointed in the same directions at the same times every day.
talk about routine !. i could always be sure that it would not vary from it's routine, and because i could not vary from mine, i felt akin to it. i also said nothing because i admired the clock who said nothing.

even though the clock said nothing, people relied on what it indicated and so i thought that was the way i also wanted to be. i was about 2-3 years old then and i was lost to the "real" world.

i have no idea what your "winks" indicate. sorry if i can not reply to your innuendo.

i would advise you to be more explicit in what you say because i am not a mind reader.
