Perhaps. But, for me, aside from the matter of introducing forced drugging of a population without their individual consent no matter how good the drug might be, what should be done with the question of appropriate dosing among all individuals who drink the now-drugged water? In real life, a 40-lbs. child who spends her day running around the yard in August might drink more than a gallon of water (and water-based beverages) while her 180-lbs. father who spends his day sitting behind a desk in an air-conditioned office
might drink a couple pints of water in his coffee. Clearly, the doses are radically different and beg the question of governments who choose to fluoridate (there are fewer and fewer every day in the United States) without consideration to the larger doses being consumed by children even if their parents believe that fluoridation is "safe and effective."
