The Minority is Looted by the Majority. Suppose the Majority decided that 100 new born children a year should be sacrificed to guarantee good crops. Would you sit still for that, even though a Majority voted for it?

But you are perfectly happy to have a certain number of people who are competent and can earn hefty incomes sacrificed for the sake of the stupid and the lazy. Nice going!

Of course I'd complain! There's a huge difference between sacrificing children, and taxing income. Beside, the poor overwhelmingly serve in the military, while the rich do not - sounds like a fair trade with the rich giving up a degree of their wealth, but get to keep their kids alive.

I'm aware of that, though there are plenty of middle class and even poor kids who have the chance to go, too.

Lol at "sacrificed". The rich are always better off than the poor.

funny, if the great Will Rogers lived today and gave that speech, Republicans would be up in arms accusing him of class envy, and hating the rich.

^^^^^^ Surprisingly lots of people do not know he was Cherokee.
Where's our Will Rodgers for this era? It's amazing how that speech applies to today.

I didn't know he was part Native American.
As for a Will Rogers of today - I think the closest we have is Michael Moore, though he's so associated with yellow journalism and much raking, I don't think he has the widespread credibility Rogers enjoyed.

But for the record, demokrats are not perfect either.

The main reason we(the norwegian people) gave Obama the peace prize in the first place, is because he wasn't George Bush.

Aspies simply can not think in a "Teleological" manner as a rule, not an absolute, it is simply not in their neurological make-up. Some may try as a way of being accepted by others, especially in an NT world, but ultimately they will fail either to be accepted or to believe. This is what I was trying to say was my opinion.

Look, that SA study only encompassed 27 people, your ideas about Aspies and what we are or are not capable of thinking or likely to be thinking are just plain wrong. The claim that Aspies who do think this way are somehow faking it in order to fit in is especially galling, as it presumes to know more about the inner thoughts of others than the people having the thoughts do, and maligns them and their opinions in the process. Aspies are not homogeneous, not even close, especially not 90% close, and there is at least as much variety among us regarding our thought process as there is among NTs, or between us and NTs for that matter.

I think your are taking somethings too literally, the first posting in this discussion was a rant! Mostly sarcasm with more than a whiff of truth. It was not meant to be taken literally. It was designed to provoke comments from whomever. I have been practicing my sarcasm, maybe I am finally getting the hang of it, or not.

On the second posting you mention above, I will side with Scientific American, 27 people or not, secondly; no one is faking anything, it is just the pressure to conform. Lastly; There are more Atheist among Aspergians than can be otherwise explained. Google Aspergers and Atheism for some insight.
