I read that up to 1/3 people on the spectrum also have epilepsy or some form of seizure disorder. I've been having partial seizures since I was 14 (I'm now 22) although I've only just recently got the diagnosis of epilepsy, thanks to a lot of misdiagnoses, the fact that the first two neurologists thought I was mentally ill rather than having seizures due to my odd behaviour (we didn't know I had ASD) and the fact that the type of seizure I have doesn't show up on EEGs.

Anyone else have experience with seizures?

I am actually going to a neuro specialist tomorrow for an EEG to see if I'm having seizures. I already had an MRI 2 weeks ago. I believe I get just simple partial seizures. I know I had one around 2 months ago on a drive home from some friends although at the time I didn't recognize it for what it was. It was kind of disconcerting, It had the aura, time skip, not recognizing what should have been familiar, and panic.

They don't happen very often. It was only after talking with my counselor that she said that it might be neuro based for some of the issues I'm dealing with. I went to the neuro spec, and he asked a few questions and said I might be having seizures. I did some research, and I was like, WTF, so that's what those events were that I discounted, or didn't know what they were.

I had epilepsy as a child. No-one can tell me if I've still got it. I had a EEG when I was 11, which came back as normal. (so did dad's and he has epilepsy)

I had absence seizures with auras as a child and I was diagnosed with Epilepsy but I grew out of it. They became simple partial seizures and then went away completely. I think I still have the diagnosis so I voted yes even though I don't suffer from it anymore.
