Anyone who believed this philosophy of the '60's is seriously deluded. It's those groups that are mostly responsible for the quagmire this country is currently in.

I think people put too much stock in astrology.

I think the sign we are born under can predict a lot about our personalities, but it doesn't define us. Astrology is a guideline, not an immutable law.

Don't forget: 1969 was only the "dawn" of the "Age of Aquarius"!

Rather unsurprisingly I have a bit a soft spot for the peace and love hippy mindset.

Its such a shame it didn't work out.

Stupidly I never actually connected the age.of aquaruis song with astrology. The song just made me think of being underwater in a peaceful green and purple sea.

I have zero belief in astrology.

Some of the philosophy of the 1960s has appeal to me.

Haven't you noticed all the peace and love?

Hi....sorry to be so late to the party but something "came up."

I was a little older than most of the flower children during the period.

Most young people now always ask: "Was it true free love was the word, during the 60s?"

What they don't ask is: "Why was the army concerned when hippies said they would surround the Pentagon and levitate it."

Nixon was insane and was intent on crushing the peace movement and advocated against it. And, just as today, people who didn't understand what was happening were made to fear and hate it. Which is where many people are today.

The Love espoused during the '60s wasn't directed primarily toward sex but toward loving your fellow man and against hate and war and was an effective part of stopping the Vietnam war. But Nixon and his boys made many people believe this was a communist idea. That idea lingers in confused minds today.

This time was a chance for peace. Everyone tried real hard. But in the end the warmongers won. Please don't support the warmongers by making fun of the people who tried to stop it.

Thank you.

I studied astrology a bit as a child, because so many famous astronomers on up to Tycho Brahe had also been astrologers. I find astrology as a whole to be a steaming pile of dung, but I still read the columns in newspapers now and then, if only to be amused that they're still treating Pluto as a planet without giving similar consideration to other bodies of similar size and that they still haven't got the memo that Ophiuchus also crosses the ecliptic and we therefore see planets crossing through that constellation as well. ;)
