The slurping, crunching, smacking noise of eating
I'm going to guess that given the coordination problems many people on the Spectrum have and the lack of social astuteness that everyone on the Spectrum has - a lot of people on the Spectrum are lacking in dining etiquette skills. I recall Temple Grandin specifically listing "table manners" as one life and social skill that she felt many people with autism sometimes need to be taught.

I don't understand why social values like table manners are referenced as being different for autistics, because they are something that everybody is taught. I for one had all kinds of manners smashed into me by my dad's parents. They used to get so angry at me for using my cutlery incorrectly or placing my elbow on the table etc. I still don't care for table manners such as putting elbows on the table. I only really care that people do not fart or burp, or at least apologize if they do, but even then that's only with people I'm not close to.

Yes, I can relate. I don't even like my own eating noises, and I do try to eat & chew as quietly as I can. I'm already a super-slow eater.
Some have mentioned not even liking the sound of a pet licking their fur. Paradoxically I'm very much ok with that - I find it very relaxing to watch either of my cats grooming themselves & I don't mind the sounds of their licking. The best & most entertaining for me is watching a cat wash her ears
It's not to do with eating, but I *Can't Stand* kissing noises. Why can't people kiss quietly??? It's like they want everyone in a 5-mile radius to know they're in an intimate relationship. This goes double or triple for movies. My roommate watches porn, and I swear they make the 'actors' do the kissy-noises super-slurpy on purpose I can't imagine that's a turn-on??? I find myself hoping for the naughtier scenes to start so the slurpy-kissey noises will be done
ETA: Re: CHIPS ~ I realize chips are very loud foods. I do love me some chips, BUT, I try very hard to eat them as quietly as possible, by putting the whole chip in my mouth before crunching. I have a friend who eats his chips by chomping his way across each chip, keeping his mouth open, chomping across it in stages, then chews with his mouth open. It drives me insane! I don't eat chips with him anymore

I know someone who rationalizes the way she eats by saying getting enough to eat as a kid was a matter of eating quickly. I sympathize, but isn't it possible to learn new behaviors as an adult? Same person chews with her mouth open. The only person I've met that I just can't be in the same room with over dinner.
Also... Gym/protein shaker bottles. The little spiral ball thing hitting the side of the container. Infuriating.
In a similar vein, the sound of fork against tupperware makes me want to lose it in a big way.
