Have the people behind Spectrum Singles ever explained their colour coding system? It's over a year since they said on this thread that they were about to do so, yet when I joined the site last week I could not find any information about what the colour coding supposedly means.

I signed up for the Spectrum Singles dating service a few years ago after learning about it on this Wrong Planet thread, and I have not had any success with it. I only have the free membership, and I wanted to wait & see if it is worth spending money for the paid membership with all of the extra features.

From my experience, it is no different than any of the other Asperger's syndrome dating sites & many smaller dating sites which cater to niche interests. It is a low-volume web site with few members & no activity, none of the members are located anywhere close to me, and most of the members have profiles, but they are not active on the site. One time I received a strange message from someone I never even contacted who said that she was not interested in me, and that I hoped she understood.

Periodically, I still receive E mails from the site about new matches, but they are usually the same people in every E mail, and none of them live anywhere near me.

Does any one on here know if anything has changed on the Spectrum Singles site, or if more people have signed up with it? I am not really interested in using it again, but I am just curious about it.

My daughter wouldn't look twice at a guy who called himself an Aspie. These same people are running around calling themselves Aspies as if it is something cool. Just nerds.....

Why not have diabetes, cancer, MS etc dating sites? People date people rather than medical diagnoses.

There are dating sites for literally everything imaginable, including the medical conditions you mentioned.

And no one here cares about what your daughter thinks.

I think the intention behind it is they're hoping to meet like-minded people, since us aspies are all a hive mind that think exactly the same.

Just ask Rdos and he'll explain it all for you.

on it - funny thing is those matches don't feel like matches to me. maybe it's because they are just profiles as opposed to meeting people offline

The site seems sketchy to me so I won't have anything to do with it. Maybe I'm just paranoid but oh well
