For censorship, no doubt! That's what happens when the truth comes out - the Left tries to shut it up! Here goes the First Amendment - Thank You Democrats!

Fox targeted by FEC Dems in first-ever vote to punish debate sponsorship. http://tiny.iavian.net/aznf

Anything that happens against Faux News is no concern of mine.

I find that American's attitude to their constitution somewhat religious in nature.

If you're religious then that should be OK for you but I'm an atheist.

You can't run into a crowded cinema and yell "fire!".

Freedom of speech is not an absolute, it has to be measured like any thing else.

It really, really is. We don't have the rich heritage of older countries and so many Americans seem to treat these things in a pseudo-religious fashion.

Yet you're not concerned about Donald Trump going against it.

apparently 'opening up' libel laws so publications can't write knowingly false and malicious material about someone isn't shredding the first amendment

the media will get what's coming to them, they fancy themselves as the fourth estate for a reason.

If Trump gets his way with libel laws, then Fox, Drudge, Breitbart, and the rest of the right wing cesspool passing for journalism would be the first to "get what's coming to them." Careful what you wish for, because you might just get it.

I don't equate accountability for proven slander or libel in a court of law the same as punitive action for point of view.

As said so elequently "They will have it coming" No matter if liked or not the truth always should have a right to be in print. But if the piece is pure opinion and conjecture... it is not protected defamation law predates our constitution and was not abolished. Though dueling was outlawed. That used to be the response of choice >_<
Lincoln SPECIALIZED in Slander law. A large portion of his cases were in those types of tort.

What Faux News seems to be crying about most is that they want the freedom to speak lies and slander about others, while denying those others their freedom to speak the truth about Faux News.

Say 'Goodnight', Rupert!

It's a dishonest article:

Quote:
A complaint was filed with the FEC alleging that Fox News' editorial decision to expand the debate from one debate to two debates, and to include 7 candidates in the undercard debate, constituted an illegal corporate contribution by Fox News to the candidates who participated in the debate

"A complaint was filed with the FEC". How's that for vagueness?

And who filed the complaint?

:D A Republican candidate!

 One of the candidates left out filed a complaint to the FEC, charging that Fox was essentially making a contribution to the 17 candidates by letting them have a voice in the debate.

The hypocrisy reeks ... and shows why reactionary media can't be trusted to tell the truth.

Lies, slander, hypocrisy, hyperbole, speculation ... you'd think that Rupert Murdoch himself was running for president!
