1. I'm 18 years old (I'm an adult... eww...)
2. I graduated from high school as the salutatorian of my class a few weeks ago
3. Most people can't tell I'm autistic
4. I get headaches WAY too often
5. My voice range is contralto (meaning low alto) - on average, it's Db3 to C6
6. Depending on your definition of 'being able to play an instrument', I can play more instruments than I can count on my hands
7. I've composed five pieces of classical music that have been performed by professional orchestras
8. One of these has been performed by the Vermont Symphony Orchestra (I was 15 at the time)
9. Another two of them have landed me interviews with Vermont Public Radio's staff, and I've been featured twice on their radio station

12. When I told my 3rd and 4th grade classmates that music had colors to it, they told me that I was wrong and I ignored the colors I saw until I was asked what colors I saw when I was playing 'the perfect pitch game'

2- I was a heavy pot smoker and drug user and am now a recovering addict;
I love drugs, everything but mainlining; I hate the feeling of injecting stuff.
3- I cannot swim, or dance; when I try it appears to others that I am having a seizure.
4- I take antidepressants; they help me from having tear-filled outbursts and anxiety.
5- I am very even tempered, unless someone is trying to stop me from having my cigarette.

8- I never went to university or college, not just because I couldn’t afford it, but because I want to learn EVERYTHING about everything, and could never pick a topic of interest.
9- I spent several years of my life heavily intoxicated; It sort of ruined my life.
10- I've always disliked babies and teenagers. I like having other people’s children over as entertainment, so long as they don’t s**t their pants and I get to send them home when I get bored.
11- I don’t like music, I find it overwhelming most of the time; but I truly enjoy karaoke even through I have no sense of cadence and speak in a rather monotone mechanical voice.
12- I have two dogs who are my best friends in the world, I am not ashamed to say I understand them better than anyone else on this planet. I feel they also understand me better than anyone else I have ever known.
13- I am asexual, and like to spend my time amongst women, particularly lesbians.
14- I have a passion and yearning for knowledge; when I do not know the answer to something I am compelled to find out everything about said question and answer.

16- I did not get my licence to drive until I was almost 30, because I was not yet stable enough mentally to do so. See #2.
17- When completing tasks, like housework for example, make a list on the whiteboard kept in the kitchen, detailing the order in which things should be done. I find if I don’t I will get distracted by menial tasks and spend all day doing something that really does not need to be done. My roommate finds this particularly childish and entertaining.
18- I am divorced.
19- I don’t shave because I hate the way my body hair feels when it starts to grow back, but I clip my hair every second week because I love that same feeling when it is on my head.
20- I love food, and cooking; I love everything about food, the history of ingredients, the agricultural requirements for ingredient growth, spoilage microorganisms, food safety science, processing techniques, canning, drying, curing, brining; the list goes on.

Well I'm new here (hello everybody!), so this seems like the best place to start.

1. I'm an only child.
2. I was home-schooled through a rigorous Catholic curriculum until 10th grade (despite my family not being really religious-- guess it was just the best program available).
3. Technically was supposed to skip two grades but my parents only let me skip one because they did't want to overwhelm me.
4. Started taking college classes at 13.
5. Am going back to school for what seems the umpteenth time for my third degree (this one in medical laboratory science).
6. Didn't date until I was nearly 21
7. Subsequently, am engaged to my first and only boyfriend.
8. However, my longest and steadiest romantic relationship has been the one I have in my head with a celebrity. That totally counts, right?
9. Speaking of having relationships in my head, I live out myriad fantasy lives in my head on a constant basis to get me through my day.
10. For a very long time, I wanted to be a writer and an actress. Then life got to me.
11. I also danced for years (ballet/pointe, jazz, hip hop, tap), took horseback riding lessons, sewing lessons (not my favorite -- I am, what you might call, "domestically-averse"), and took piano and karate lessons for years (got my black belt when I was nine).
12. For the longest time, when I was little, I hated being human, never felt fully human, and thought humans were a decidedly inferior species. Can't tell you how many days I spent daydreaming that my "real" people would come take me away to live with them. But mostly I settled for pretending to be animals and dinosaurs.
13. Holy crap was I obsessed with dinosaurs. I lived, ate, breathed, slept dinosaurs. Knew their scientific names, which era/period they came from, what they looked like/ate, etc. I wanted to be a paleontologist from the time I was about 2-3 to about 11 or 12 until I learned that they have to do other things besides dig up dinosaur bones.
14. Knew I was different from a very young age (maybe 4 or 5?). It was never a very big problem until a few years ago when the differences between myself and other people seemed to get worse and the gap between me and "normal" seemed to widen tremendously.
15. Two years ago, was diagnosed with at least one autoimmune disease which wreaks havoc with me. Even though I'm only 27, I can't do the things I used to physically and mentally because I just get too exhausted and sometimes am in pain. I'm really nervous about going back to school, especially for something that's hardcore science.
16. Because of all the things I live with (Asperger's, giftedness, possible learning disabilities, autoimmune disorders, food sensitivities/intolerance, other health conditions, etc.), I sometimes feel oppressed and depressed by life and my circumstances.
17. For some reason, maybe because for so long I tried to "hide" my otherness (and not knowing I had Asperger's) and wore that NT mask when it wasn't healthy for me to do so, I am almost regressing in my autistic features. Sensory sensitivities, ability to tolerate people, energy to tolerate much of anything for very long, etc. are all getting worse. I've also developed something like a stutter, like the words get snarled up in my mouth and I can't get them out or like I'm a record player with the needle stuck in one position.

19. See patterns in things, which is a double-edge sword. It has extended even to how I view the world at large.
20. I am a feminist and proud to say so. I despise sexism, misogyny, etc. in all its forms and believe that people just don't realize how much of it actually exists, even in 1st world, post-industrialized nations. And, contrary to popular belief, feminists are not radical, extremist, man-hating, bra-burning, leg-hair-waving-freely messengers of Satan. We are fair, kind, sane people too.
