Whatever he is studying, it isn't logic or reasoned argument. He begins his objection with a strawman-type of gross exaggeration, and uses this "reason" (quite typically for people who use this pathetic tactic) to ridicule proponents (note the false affected laughter) he happens to personally disagree with and/or feels personally threatened by. Sad.

If all you've watched is the opening, he's making a joke. Or rather, he's using humour as a counterpoint to a serious argument. I highly recommend watching the rest of the video.

Oh, and that was wry laughter, not "fake" laughter, though I can understand the confusion.
