Yeah I agree being 16 is certainly not always an indication of knowing less. I think that since many aspies have an an intense interest in politics and current affairs they might end up knowing more than the average person.

Capitalism is like a soaring aircraft without pilot. Human beings don't have control. We are spiralling towards disaster (in case the Gs haven't killed you yet).

The government won't save us -nor will a new one. Government is part of the problem.

Being 16 myself, I find that some, though definetly not all, adults sometimes forget how capable THEY were at 16.

sometimes, they forget how incapable they were, too...

i was 16 when i joined this site and i said some super dumb things in news threads i'd like to take back. you all seem to be far more keen in those areas than i was, then. (or still!)

I've read what you wrote on Obamacare and you certainly don't seem that way. Sometimes people think others know allot and forget the immense knowledge they have themselves I have certainly been on that end. I know a girl in my class who knows tonnes about social issues, women's rights, racism etc. and has taught me. But she says sometimes she doesn't know allot because I superficially appear to know more in comparison. But to be honest that is not the case and she should know that.

I'll probably look back at this year to be honest and think of how naïve I was.

Yeah I find that to be the case even looking back on last year. I sometimes think of me as 15 as being allot dumber but the more I reflect I find that isn't the case.

I put centre right. My political opinions are still developing, but I've always been attracted to the right more than I have to the left. I would never identify as a Republican nor would I identify as a Democrat. I believe that both parties are corrupt and do not represent the people. I like Libertarians, too bad America won't get past the two party system.

Solidly left-wing in the European sense so most Americans would probably think that I'm a communist lol. I'm more of a socialist with some green/environmentalist leanings. I'm an advocate of big government with the state providing healthcare, transport and some utilities, strong trade unions, subsidised housing for low income citizens or those in decent jobs that are struggling to get on the housing ladder due to high property prices, a generous welfare system and investment in renewable energy (solar, wind and hydropower). Pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, anti-censorship, pro-Marijauna legalisation (even though I don't smoke) and pro-multiculturalist. So, yeah, I'm pretty much a raging leftie.

Yes, I am a fan of the Nordic Model. That kind of socialism creates a much better society than the type that has devestated Venezuela or the perversion of it that we see in Zimbabwe.

It's definitely less "leftist" than abject socialism or communism.

Other. I agree with a mix of left and right views and disagree with a lot of what they stand for. I also have causes not covered by any of the (quite numerous) political parties we have. I most definitely do not consider myself a leftist or a conservative. In the past I saw myself as green but even The Green Party has some views I strongly disagree with. I stopped voting a long time ago, as I am just far too divided on the package of views they come with to stand behind any of the parties. It's a mystery to me that so many people appear to pick their side somewhat easily, apparently finding the divide reasonable.
The only thing that could get me to vote was if there was a referendum about something, or a list of issues one could vote for or against.

I say! I will not have socialism! I will simply not have it!

Socialism will obstruct my plans to exploit the working class!

I refuse to cast myself as any particular ideology because it means adopting an ideology instead of intelligence. I am an individual unbound by labels. I support facts, reason and justice and believe policy should be based on those things. Not on emotions such as fear or hatred. A good argument or solution to a problem can come from anywhere and all must be considered. The one proven to be the best based on the facts and doing the most good is the one which should be implemented.
