If you live with someone that owns the property and you give them 300 dollars toward an important bill and they end up pocketing the 300 and not paying it can you prosecute them?

*I hate my life right now*

If you forced him to give you a receipt for the money, it's more possible that you'll have enough evidence to prosecute.

What did he use the money for?

No reciept... And i dont know what he spends his money on. The place is going into forclosure in two weeks and has been fined for multiple health code violations.

Obviously, this man is not responsible with money.

I guess you could try it if you want to. But no receipt means no evidence, basically.

I found out he used the money to help fund his move to a new house. Members of my family who heard what the health code violations are want us to move out of here ASAP, but we dont know where to go.

Actually it would be hard to prosecute him for a criminal offense, but you might have better luck in a small claims court.
