8 weeks ago the doctor took out the fluid in my eye, sewed the retina back on and replaced the fluid with gas. The gas bubble floats , that is why I had to always have my head down. If my head was up the gas bubble might disconnect my lens. The gas bubble became smaller and smaller as my body replaced the gas with eye fluid. My bubble is small now but I will talk to the doctor because I thought it would be gone by now.

The ordeal gave me some great stories for my students. I told them that I can now appreciate the small things in life. For 4 weeks ( 24/7 except for 3 half hour breaks ) I had to sleep face down with my head in a massage pillow. When the doctor said I could sleep on my side I felt extreme joy! When I went to bed I thought, " this is going to be sooooo comfortable!" Now that I can drive , I'm like this is soooo cool!
My Asperger traits made me keep my cool! Whenever I started to feel sorry for myself I'd sing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFacWGBJ_cs to myself. My blood is British, a very Aspergerish culture! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rObSWkQA7og

Wow, this is awesome, a positive story about AS being used to someone's advantage! THIS is what I like to hear! I can't personally think of a time I used it to keep my cool, but I did use it to think up an amazing afterlife theory that turned out to be fact according to people's near-death experiences. I'd also like to hear more stories from people about how they used their awesome Aspie minds!

Right before surgery I remembered this scene https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zS90xKbJs4 and said,
"Either way, it will be one hell of a ride. I'm ready!"
