http://www.tvguide.com/news/erin-moran-dead-happy-days/

Probably best remembered as Joanie Cunningham, on "Happy Days".

She had had so many troubles in recent years----her house was foreclosed in 2010 (I think that was the year), and she was evicted and was homeless, for a time----and, she's had troubles with drugs and being arrested.....

It's so very, very sad----she was only 56, and the cause is unknown.

My condolences to her husband and family.

For some reason, can't read the article in the OP, none of the links to news articles that I click on will work for me here on Wrong Planet, noticed this a couple weeks ago ... I probably need to clear my cache, already reported one bug today ...

Anyways, my question regarding Erin Moran is,
where were her friends and family in her hour of need?
Were any of them willing to take her in when she was homeless?

It's all well and good to wish someone well after they're dead
and say how sad we all are
and take a minute out of our day to post a Tweet.
(So people will know how much we care?)
Much better to help them out while they're alive.

The other thing being, so many of us
like me, for example,
had no clue that Erin Moran was in need of help.

Anyways, she is in my prayers,
for whatever that's worth.

The spinoff Joanie Loves Chachi was supposedly popular in Japan because "chachi" is a slang term for penis.

RIP Erin.

Sometimes it's just not possible to take someone in----for instance, when I was homeless, the only person who could help, was my aunt; but, she couldn't take me in, cuz her husband hated me----but, in Erin's case, her mother-in-law took-in Erin and her husband.

As for the drugs and alcohol: Again, sometimes no one can help, cuz the person has to WANT to get clean and sober. Britney Spears is one of the most successful recovery stories of somebody being brought-back from the very edge, as her father took-over----but, maybe, in Erin's case, the people around her, were just as "sick" as she was (meaning, they had drug and alcohol problems, as well [which sounds like the case]; also, they probably don't have the money that Britney Spears' dad has [because of Britney's earnings], to have gotten Erin into Rehab).

As for troubles with WP: I hear ya----I (and others) haven't had a PM button, since, at-least, November (thank goodness people know how to get-around that), and I reported it, but.....

Hi Campin' Cat,

You're right, and I saw more news articles today stating that there were people trying to help, but getting nowhere, that Erin did in fact have a roof over her head, and that it was just a very sad situation.

Am glad to see that you were able to overcome adversity ... truly admirable!

She had stage 4 cancer, no illegal drugs at her residence.

Erin Moran likely died of cancer complications, officials say

Hopefully, people will remember that fact, instead of thinking she was just some has-been child star who had acidentally overdosed in order to escape the world's rejection.

Hey, ASPartOfMe, I was just coming on here, to put that----but, now I don't have to lookup a source; so, THANKS!!

I didn't read your link, but no one seems to know what KIND of cancer, and I'm curious----also, I still have at least two other questions..... No.1, did she KNOW she had cancer? No.2, Everybody said that she was "found unresponsive"----what does that mean? Does it mean she died in her sleep? Does it mean she was walking-through the house, and just dropped-dead? Enquiring minds want to know!!

Also, I'm very interested in that tox-screen----I'm glad no illegal drugs were found, but, certainly, many-a-person has offed themselves with 'scripts (NOT that she must have, because of her history----but, I can certainly understand a cancer-stricken person wanting to).

Thanks, Phoenix----I really appreciate your kind words.

Scott Baio posted this from her husband on Facebook

Quote:
Open letter from Steve. (Erin Moran's Husband).

Erin and I met 4/22/1992 and parted ways 4/22/2017. We were planning to go to
Thunder Over Louisville to celebrate.
She was feeling fine on our anniversary
11-23-2016. Maybe four or five days after we got back Erin woke up and had about a dime size blood stain on her pillowcase. She said
I think i bit my tongue. A couple days go by and
there's a bigger spot of blood. We get like 4 days into December, there's more blood. I get a flashlight and say let me look.
It was not her tongue it was her tonsil on the left side. I thought it was tonsillitis.
So we went to an ENT who said they wanted to biopsy it. It came back squamous cell carcinoma. She started radiation and chemo. Five days a week radiation and chemo only on Thursdays. We did that the whole time. It got so bad so fast. By the
middle of February, Erin could no longer speak
or eat or drink. She had a feeding tube implant and i feed her 6 to 8 times a day. She was still happy, she was active, she texted people on her phone all day. On the 21st she was having trouble
breathing. She woke up on the 22nd, she was not 100%.
She needed Kleenex, so i went to the store and came
back. She was there watching T.V in bed. I
laid down next to her held her right hand in my
left. I feel asleep woke up about a hour later
still holding her hand and she was gone, she was
just gone.. Norton Cancer Institute never said how bad it was.. The coroner told me it was really really bad. It had spread to her spleen, she had alot of fluid in her lungs and part of her brain was
infected. The coroner said even if she was in the hospital being pumped full of antibiotics she still would not of made it. He said it was the best that she was with me and went in her sleep.
So that's it.
PLEASE feel free to send the above to Any and ALL
news outlets The press has been relentless. they knock on the door constantly. Thank you Harrison County Sheriff's I Called last night and they came out ran them off got up this morning
they were all back sheriffs ran them all off again. the last time two cop cars ran off the last ones right before it got dark. we will see what tomorrow brings....
PEACE my friends.

This gave me the creeps because it is too similar to my experiences with the feeding tube and not bieng able to eat and speak.

Some homeless types are plucky and unbearable.

But, I am surprised that not one fan, of this international brand, would have been honored, to take her in.

If I was to fixate on that kind of thing, I could probably find fanclub pages, dedicated to every particular cartoon, movie character, and minor celebrity.

I don't think people were standing behind what is special to them.
