Oh, I love this video from today's TYT, and I will transcribe the part I've been listening to over and over again because it is so awesome. He really lays thick on the so-called "pragmatism" of corporate Democrats:

Transcription:

Quote:
What is not pragmatic is what the Democratic establishment has done. They have lost the White House to a buffoon,--Bernie Sanders didn't run against Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, your beloved Hillary Clinton did, and she was a miserable failure. You know why we have Donald Trump? Because of you, because of Hillary Clinton and because of the establishment. They ran a status quo campaign when we told you the American people didn't want status quo. We warned you and we were right and you were wrong, and it stings! And unfortunately, your grotesque error leads to all of our pain right now! You caused Donald Trump!

Secondly, you lost the Senate when you thought you were going to win it, you lost the House, you lost the Supreme Court, you lost 69 out of 99 state legislatures! What part of that is pragmatic? What part of that is winning? No! Establishment Democrats have a record of grotesque failure! Hideous failure!

The reason Justice Democrats exist in the first place is to make sure that we stop those losses. Our idea is run to get votes! That's pragmatic! Represent the voters and they will vote for you. I know to the establishment who is so used to pleasing their donors, that seems like an outrageous thought! But it isn't. It's the democratic thought!

And we will run in primaries, and we will take out all these corporate establishment Democrats, and then we will beat the Republicans! You obviously have no idea how to do that, so step aside, butch, we've got it from here. OK? Go fluff somewhere else.

Primarying current politicians in your party worked for the Republicans, so let us try it!

These "progressives" can't get elected , because they want to raise taxes on the poor and middle class.

Bernie Sanders proposed an additional health care tax, gas tax, carbon tax, VAT tax, family leave tax, robin hood "college for all" tax, new payroll tax on employers, lifting the taxable income cap on Social Security, higher income tax ..... and many others ...

All these taxes will hit the poor and middle class.

The poor will likely benefit overall, but as usual the middle class will bear the pain.

Actually, Bernie wanted to target the rich the most with taxation, as they could bear the burden. But even so, I fail to see what's so bad for middle class people bearing at least some of the burden, as they would get so much back in return. A healthy, educated populace can only mean a stronger country.

1. That's the politician's promise, and few believe it.

2. It's insulting ...

And it's somehow better to live destitute and without health care if you're elderly or disabled? Because that's all that awaits most people who don't have social security or the ACA, or medicare and medicade there to help you.
And yes, plenty of people not only believe it, but are able to live because of it today.

I am not fond the political establishment but I dislike these so called progressive democrats as well. What we need is a populist moderate who can motivate people to jump on board but have sound policies.

Let's take their energy utilize it into populism and allow it to make Democrats win elections. But then later on lets discard the progressive democrats we can't have socialists in government. I would prefer people like Steve Bullock and John Bel Edwards 100%.
