Essentially, at some point I'm going to have a go at making a setup to achieve something similar to what Randall came up with in that comic there.

Equipment:
2 Quadcopters
2 Cameras
2 small cameras
2 screens about the size of those used in VR headsets
A gyroscope
for the last three points a VR headset with built in gyroscope and 1 camera looking at each eye could also work...
And then a computer and a fair bit of time

I'd mount a camera on each quadcopter, and using the gyroscope and computer they'd be set to rotate around a point (Which would be my imaginary giant head). The cameras on the headset would work out where on the screen I'm looking at, and the cameras would rotate so that object is in the same part on both screens (otherwise it'd suddenly seem like I'm shortsighted/longsighted).

The setup wouldn't work on really windy days, but I could then increase the distance between the quadcopters and the altitude which they fly at to suddenly grow...

I really want to do this at some point.
