Nice paper! As a fellow academic, I have a minor analysis suggestion: consider using a post-hoc test to identify which of the 3 countries in Table 5 is causing the significant p-value. I like Tukey's HSD for this purpose.

But my major point is that I strongly agree with your instinct to follow up the gender/sexuality finding. I think yours is the first refereed paper I've read which has such a clear result (though this isn't my field, so I'm just browsing). Are you aware of the writing of Nick Walker and co-workers on this? His blogpost "Autism and gender binarism - a stern letter to an academic colleague" is one starting point.
