The human race consists of "mutts". There are no "pure" races. In theory any human male and any human female can breed. So we are one species. There are minor variations in various populations. In the tropical areas dark skinned people had a slight reproductive advantage which is why dark skinned humans are produced in those regions. In the northern regions lighter skin is advantageous for producing vitamin D. So lighter skin people have the advantage in the northern climes.
