I know- it must be so amazing to have it! The closest I come is with my visualizing the months of the year as a shape and having certain colors for numbers and letters, but that's because I had letter and number puzzles when I was little and memorized all the colors the letters were in, so that's most likely not synesthesia eithet .

Stampy I'm sorry to hear you're having such a hard time sleeping.(every now and then that happens to me and I hate it!)
To me it sounds like what you are going through is schizophrenia. Some have said that hormones and other things occuring during puberty can cause that to happen. I read that problems with the brain's structure can cause schizophrenia as well, and that it can develop over years. But, I'm not a doctor so it's best to tell a therapist about it.
Earlier you were asking if I was okay, maybe I should ask you the same... SSF are you okay?

You have much more experience than I do. Thank you for that advice on the "twinge of doubt"- it's quite useful. If you don't have OCD, then nobody does ! I sometimes try to find the reasons behind these thoughts, but sometimes there isn't a reason.
Thank you for all your support today .
It's funny you mention extreme male brain. My GF ( who's a very likely candidate for ASD ) believes she has a male brain while from what I've read about ASD there's a theory of a female/male version , I definitely feel like I have the female version What a pair we are
I'm glad you found my advice useful but for me there is always a reason for the thoughts but sometimes it's not always apparent.
You really need to try and relax , distract or whatever helps you the most , your not going to drive yourself insane worrying about it but you are distressing yourself which is really sad to read about , tell you mum to give you a big hug ( if your ok with hugging ) , mums are great like that

I'm not okay! I am terrified of schizophrenia! I really hope I don't have it

Wow, what a great match! Do I have schizophrenia? AquaineBay said I did, but he doesn't know what Schiz OCD is- right?! !?
Yeah, I bet there is always a reason for my thoughts as well and I just don't realize it. It's funny because sometimes I "forget" to have the delusional thought. For example, I was eating a doughnut and I would normally get the intrusive thought that there was so something in it or it was poisoned. I forgot to have the thought lol! I'm getting better with hugging, so I'll try that .

Do you think I'm a schizophrenic?

I'm no psychiatrist but you have very similar symptoms to me and is has been my worst fear for decades. Consequently I have had at least 3 different psychiatrist tell me in no uncertain terms that I do not have schizophrenia but never told me exactly what was wrong with me. I have been locked up on pysch wards full of schizophrenics and I've felt like the sanest person in there ( it's not the right place for me ) , I am nothing like any schizophrenic I have met and I have met lots although I felt a lot of empathy for them.

AquaineBay is basing his opinion on what he knows , do you think he has a good knowledge of psychiatric illnesses?
I don't think his comment was very helpful to you in your current state of mind but I know he didn't mean it in a bad way.

One cannot diagnose somebody with schizophrenia over the Internet.
I know you can't diagnose me, but I really hope this is all OCD. I forgot to mention that I have breaks when I rarely have paranoid thoughts and I 100% don't believe them. This can last from days to months. It just seems like when I have one and I don't automatically resist it I start panicking and then I start having tons of paranoid thoughts. It can be part of OCD to adopt symptoms- it's basically hypochondria. Thank you so much .

If the therapist thought you had schizophrenia, he/she mostly likely would have referred you to a psychiatrist, so you can get a prescription for psychotropic medication.

You're not schizophrenic and you're not allowed to say you could be because if you're schizophrenic, then I'm schizophrenic because we are practically the same person.
