That's awesome.

I think that the police have been left to deal with the mentally ill with no toolkit. But it has been that way with families and schools for a long time. Tools and knowledge are becoming available and it is great to see law enforcement show interest.

Often, I think, the behaviour of mentally ill people is misinterpreted as threat. (That's not to say that people with mental illness cannot pose a threat, as they truly can,) but not always. And an understanding of common behaviours of people in mental distress would help, I think.
