Trump: This is the calm before the storm

Quote:
US President Donald Trump has said it is the "calm before the storm" as he met military leaders, without giving further details.

The cryptic comments came hours after reports he was planning to withhold support for the Iran nuclear deal.
But the "storm" could also refer to heightened tensions with North Korea.

Mr Trump posed in the White House with his wife Melania as well as military leaders and their wives, after Thursday's meetings but before dinner together. Gesturing at the people around him, he asked the waiting press if they knew "what this represents".

"Maybe it's the calm before the storm," he said.

When reporters pressed him on what storm he was referring to, he would only say: "You'll find out."

I wonder if Trump even cares he may be causing wide spread anxiety.

It's a dismal spectacle to watch DT using the same kind of apocalyptic language as the terrorists groups do to two other countries at the same time.

It may be a distraction technique though, a favourite in DT's modus operandi, to divert attention from domestic (USA) issues. I hope so though it is my grave fear that I am wrong.

The danger is his dangerous level of instability and need to prove how he's the greatest all the time. I suspect he wants to go down in history as the "big strongman great leader" who nuked away more human lives than anyone else in the whole history of the Earth - it seems to be a vision that would cater to his sociopathic grandiosity.

I think, also, that he is trying to provoke Tillerson into resigning, because he knows that people see RT as a more mature and measured voice. Trump would hate that. Maturity is not his strong suit.

Probably not, if the nukes start flying there may not be any life insurance companies around to pay benefits. Even if insurance companies survive they won't have any money to pay you benefits or with the power grid, down have a way of paying you.

What makes this really scary is you have two "leaders" in engaging in a my dick is bigger then yours contest.

Why is it that people who don't believe much of anything Trump says are taking this seriously?

I can not speak for others but he has been pretty consistent about this.

He has boxed America in. If he does nothing or a "surgical strike" all opponents will think they can do anything without worrying about a US response. If he backs his words up who really knows.

Trump is incapable of following this advice.

As the life is proof of living in grace, it's hard to see much of Christ reflected in Trump. And no, being surrounded by a bunch of fundie hypocrites who lay their hands on him while praying hardly counts.
