Why not try using a voice recorder? They are small and cheap now, and would be a great relief to NT instructors. Then, you can transcribe the instructions, and take your time understanding each step as you go.

Those big floor polishers are interesting. They can be controlled by a thumb and finger, but if you don't have them balanced, two hands are not enough to prevent quick drama.
