The left-wing media won't allow this storm to continue much longer. They whipped up hysteria because they thought they could get Trump, or get lesser characters that would undermine Trump, and now the fire is burning their own people. It's the very same cycle that occurred years ago -- all kinds of things were terrible and bad until they found out Bill Clinton was doing them, and then those things became not so bad and not such a big deal after all.

Hardly a political issue. Men of all persuasions, political, religious or ethnic have access to young attractive women are going to activate their hormonal response and good o'l temptation. We on the left at least support feminism which helps rationalise that women/girls have the right to be free to participate in society without fear of molestation.

Many males on the right wing of politics are nurtured on their mother's breasts with the mantra "take what you can" and "to the victor goes the spoils", take it from me, I'm a product of private school education and have seen first hand how "alpha males" behave toward girls.

While "all" heterosexual males in positions of power will be tempted to abuse their privilege, those on the left have to accept social norms of feminism which at least provides some vestige of protection for our daughter's from the lecherous hands of "Trump like" people

I think that picture of Franken who is very much on the left, is one of a myriad things that dispels the myth that people on the left are of higher virtue than those on the right. Hillary is another good example of that myth.

I'm not suggesting democrats or socialists are immune, merely in the western context its harder for those male politicians on the left to justify objectifying women, in contrast Trump still gets backing even from republican female voters despite his own penchant for groping

They probably view the accusations and the accusers as dubious.

It seems like Charlie Rose did some screwy things, too.

Sexual harassment crosses political lines. Stupid horniness is not something which should be ascribed to political belief. Lots of it is a power trip on the part of the guys.

As mentioned on another thread, a line will be drawn between the disturbing statistics on female sexual assault in the western world and the sudden "revelation" that prominent male celebrities use their status to gratify their urges at a whim.

The sexual revolution in the 1960s, the rise of feminism hasn't erased the stigma over sex (largely due to judeo-christian hangups) which is why women/girls were (and still are) reluctant to come forward

I suspect the real statistics are far worse than what is known

Economics modelling always assumes that under normal circumstances people are driven by self-centered needs (altruism and helping others at one's own expense does not come naturally)

Modelling for heterosexual male behavior must also assume normal behavior is to feel aroused around young attractive women. What separates most males is their ability/capacity to learn to control their urges.

power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. many people fail the power test and start behaving very badly towards their fellow humans, in fact power tend to make a person think themselves a higher species.
