Does anyone else mimic a lot? I feel like my personality is a mixture of other people and I cant be myself until im alone and even then I dont know how to be myself ????

Yes I do this too. I spend a lot of time very quiet observing, then when I try to join in, find I’m repeating a lot of the things I’ve heard the other person say on a previous occasion. Even down to accents at times. It’s taken me till my 40s to begin to have a stronger sense of myself and that is still elusive when I’m with others.

Recently I have noticed that I also do this even subconsciously. I don’t actively try to mask or mimic others, but whenever I am in a group of people and one of them says something such as “yeah” I notice that I repeat it straight back in the same tone. The same is true with gestures for me as well.
