Hello,
Do any other women with autism have a hard time wearing bras? I don't know my exact bra size so I just find ones in group sizes like small & medium, etc. Does anyone else do this as well?

Get measured.

I've mostly just stopped wearing them for the most part, but if I do wear a bra I usually go for sports bras since they dont have the wire, I hate wired bras. But yeah honestly I have just mostly been going without a bra.

I mostly wear sports bras because I find them more comfortable. They don't work with everything, though, so I have a couple normal ones as well. Getting fitted is a good idea. There are guides online if you want to do it yourself.

I only wear comfort top type bras. Some brands are actually quite supportive.
I've not worn an actual bra for about 4 years.

I find it annoying. My size is an unusual one (large band, small cup), so I have one workable bra (no underwire). Still I have to adjust its straps too often for my liking. I have considered group sizes, but don't have the patience to try on different ones for the correct fit (again, large band, small cup) and rarely shop in general.

I'm already breaking "too many" female body norms as it is, so continue wearing a bra to placate the mobs. Until the time I live in an Artist's colony or am independently wealthy.

I have been correctly fitted but it doesn’t help very much.

Bras and shoes - things that must be put on before leaving home. So far I have better luck finding non-home places I can take my shoes off.

I quit wearing one as soon as my mother stopped forcing me. It's not my responsibility if men can't control themselves. Why isn't the focus on teaching boys on how to control themselves instead of teaching girls they are victims?

I thought going braless is in. :) I don't wear one at home but I do have a few in the right size for going out. It's important to get fitted. A tape measure would do. There are many online calculators. I mostly found my perfect size by trying out a lot of them. This is one thing I wouldn't buy online.

I’m older, not small, and breast fed for about six years. I don’t think men controlling themselves is an issue, but the general flopping around seems inappropriate.

Friendly Teasing: So those of us with the inability to flop can get a social waiver? Seriously: The nuances of social norms are mind boggling. I've started explaining some of them to my ASD tween and I sound ridiculous. Example: It's polite to ask permission when... but not if... or when... and caveat 23... with nuance 1,098. Got it? All in an attempt to reduce social flopping - add in bra issues and we are going to explode.

If you are exploding, you might need a larger bra

I only wear bras when out of the house or if company comes over. My non-autistic mother is very proud of me for this.

Does anyone else get acne underneath their breasts? I do, and it makes bra-wearing more uncomfortable than it already is. At least my face doesn't get it anymore.

I'm at home 24/7 so I don't wear a bra anymore unless I'm going out or someone is coming round (rarely). If I do wear a bra it's non-wired, I can't stand wired bras.

I get a rash where the bra is, that's why I stopped wearing them.
