I find that a lot of the spaces I visit online are populated by Americans and I can't relate to a lot of their issues. It's part of the reason I don't visit this forum very often. Your culture is just so different to what I experience over here.

Any other Brits on here?

There a zillions of Brits on this website. A huge number of Canadians, Kiwis, and Aussies. And many English speaking individuals from European non English speaking countries make their presence felt. Despite being both non English speaking and having a tiny population Finland has always been well represented here for some reason.

But the US dominates with the largest single contingent, including moi.

I can relate to posts and threads by Brits unless it involves politics. I often don’t understand or relate to American politics so…

I find most people relatable. Studying languages and consuming native content might help with this.

Hmm, yes, a lot of the American politics is so important to understanding comments on the internet these days and the motivations behind what people post. That's part of why I feel like an outsider. On Reddit too.

This whole Boomer Milllenial divide thing doesn't seem as large in the UK either.

I don't do politics anywhere, except for big ticket human rights issues.
I don't know anyone from pop culture or any of the movies and video game things.
I feel like I'm more hindered by my lack of entertainment knowledge than anything else.

You like books though? Books are a valid form of entertainment.

I read very little post-1900.

My reading list doesn't jive with pop-culture very well.
