I have a love / hate relationship with routines. I enjoy the certainty and security, but I also hate the predictability. So I often go through times where I'll follow a strict schedule, then I'll get bored and go off the rails. Then I'll make a new routine which I'll end up ditching.

There's a few more between 193 and 199.

Says I am more monowhateveritis than 92% of autistic people. Don't get it.

"Monotropism is a person's tendency to focus their attention on a small number of interests at any time, tending to miss things outside of this attention tunnel. This cognitive strategy is posited to be the central underlying feature of autism."

Yes, but I also notice things that others don't notice.

I'm like this too. It's like being highly monotropic, but with a few leaks.

It figures. My ASD isn't as severe as can be, but it's definitely there.

I was pleasantly surprised that the reductionist nature of the questionnaire didn't give me a clearly inaccurate result. Maybe it helped that they allowed 5 levels of gradation rather than 3 or 2 like some test designers think is enough. I was able to answer most of the questions with a fair degree of confidence in the accuracy of my responses, but I still kept wanting to tick between the boxes. I'd have felt better if they'd said what the "n/a" (not applicable) box was for - I don't see how it could be that many of those questions could be not applicable to anybody.

Roll on the day when they use AI to efficiently make sense of the essay-style answers that I always feel are important to reflect the nature of a real human being.
