Weasel their number out of a friend of a friend and send ‘em a nude pic. It’s often best to find one online.

Not just any nude, a closely cropped genital shot.

I generally send a dirty limerick with the pic. I want them to see my poetic side.

There once was a man from Nantucket.
And rumours of him have been greatly exaggerated. :nerdy:

There once was a woman from Madras,
Who had an adorable ass.
Not rounded and pink
As you’d probably think—
It was grey, had long ears, and ate grass.

I tell them tantalizing things, like:

The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is (whichever is greater), it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance subsystem uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position that it was, is now the position that it isn't.
In the event that the position that it is in is not the position that it wasn't, the system has acquired a variation, the variation being the difference between where the missile is, and where it wasn't. If variation is considered to be a significant factor, it too may be corrected by the GEA. However, the missile must also know where it was.

The missile guidance computer scenario works as follows. Because a variation has modified some of the information the missile has obtained, it is not sure just where it is. However, it is sure where it isn't, within reason, and it knows where it was. It now subtracts where it should be from where it wasn't, or vice-versa, and by differentiating this from the algebraic sum of where it shouldn't be, and where it was, it is able to obtain the deviation and its variation, which is called error.

I pretend to implant a seed of interest for me into them. Then I stare at them until they notice, and quickly look away. After about the third time, when they start to frown, I look just away and use my peripheral vision with quick glances.

I know that some day that seed will bloom, and they will look for me.

^^ Who wouldn’t go for something like that?!

I respond to questions with references to my favorite movies.

“Tell me about your family.”

“My mother was a hamster and my father smelt of elderberries.”

“What is your name?”

“My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.”

“Are you a Republican?”

“Inconceivable!”

Yes!

This seemed to be the gold standard with certain people in my church when I was young.

Oh right. Your previous comment/reply made it seem not like satire.

Well, people actually engage in that sort of behavior thinking that it will work, but it doesn’t.

Satire often has some basis in reality.

I tell ‘em about how my ex said that if I ever got with someone else he would kill me AND the man. I figure that sharing that will make my interest clear on top of making me harder to forget. Win-win. Those threats occurred years ago when he was still obsessed with me, so the risk of homicide is approaching zero. Statistically, I'm sure you're much more likely to be killed in an accident on the way to a date than on the date itself. Of course, sometimes people choke on food, are struck by lightening, or are turned to stone, so there are other obvious risks involved. However, a person who likes to live dangerously might find me appealing.
