i try to have seinfeld on all the time because idk it helps me cope a little bit. george's mishaps make me feel better about myself sometimes even though we are similar in a lot of ways. i like modeling my humor after jerrys sometimes too. if theres a show i want running in the background 24/7 it's either this or maybe king of the hill

It depends what streaming services one has I suppose. I love British detective dramas, like Vera, Lewis, Shetland, Morse. I find them soothing because even though they are grim, the crime has already happened so they are not violent. It's like solving a puzzle, and they are engrossing enough to distract me because they draw me in. Plus these all have beautiful settings.

I used to have random movies play in the background until I'd get sick of them and then put something else on.

I like having something in the background, I don't like feeling alone all the time.

I don't throw anything on for background sound, because that would drive me insane.
No radio, music, TV here.
I wear NC headphones even in the silence.

I very rarely watch TV at all.
I turn it on maybe two or three times a year.

If I were stressed out I'd be comforted by The Flintstones (animated).
The sound effects and voices are like an elixir to me.

I can listen to music, or television or the sounds of video games, for many hours.

But I only appreciate the sound when I am focused on the tasks that the sounds are related to.

Background sound in general drives me crazy, if it is not something I am immersed with/in.

There are shows i watch from my youth that i find it comforting to watch sometimes, like Frasier, Lovejoy, Out of Town and Time Team. But i don't just have the TV on in the background.

I do have something on to fall asleep to like Dr. Katz or Community, something i know so well that I don't need to look at it. I have an app on my phone that can play video files as audio only so i listen to shows and fall asleep.

I got a doohickey for making my TV connect to my bluetooth headphones.
That helps me focus better when and if I do watch anything.

Do you mean a transmitter/receiver for a non-bluetooth television?

You wouldn't need anything extra for a bluetooth enabled television.

Yes it’s a receiver transmitter thingy.

My TV isn’t smart enough for Bluetooth.

In a weird coincidence, I recently bought one of these devices too.

Except when new episodes of the Simpsons or South Park are on, my TV is always on Adult Swim

I don't do this. If the TV is on and I'm not watching it's annoying background noise I need to turn off.

I put in a series that I have seen many times before. Supernatural, Firefly, Walking Dead, any science fiction series.

The shows I mentioned (British detective dramas) I don't have on in the background. The plots are complicated and I have to pay close attention. But that's what I like, that they keep my attention and therefore distract me from my own thoughts and troubles.

If I'm doing something like drawing or painting then I will listen to a podcast, usually Marc Maron or Conan O'Brien.

Bluey, reminds me of the happier parts of my childhood (a playful stepdad, mainly)
