Wow, What A Timely Experience as An Anthropology Participant Observer, Visiting the Catholic

Church Today, Getting There to Catch the Last 5 Minutes of the Homily Yet to my Greatest Surprise

After That 'Discreetly' Two Women Middle-Aged Wearing White, Asked to Come Up Front to Celebrate

Their Inclusion in the Catholic Church; of Course, some of the More 'Traditional' Catholics Wearing Hunting

Jackets and the Such as That Snickering Here and There in the Congregation Yet Chances are If They Were

All Alone without the 'Mob Related Behavior,' They would Have Just Looked Forward Stone Cold the Way Most

Do During the
Homily Anyway;
Hey, Life Gets Kinda Busy
These Days; Room to Snooze
For a Few Seconds too Yet i Was

Really Proud of the Catholic Church Today;

Even Though No One Spilled The Beans About
Their Orientation, Although it Seemed Kinda Clear

You Could Really Tell by the Women's Warm SMiLes They

Were So Happy to be Included in the Warmth of the Community

As i Surely Made my Way to Them With Warm SMiLes and a Congrats too;

And When i Left Even Though there was No way to Really Prove What was Really

Going on Discreetly,

i Told the Priest i Was
Really Proud of the Catholic
Church Today As they Made
Two Middle-Age Women Feel Included;

Like the Sign at the Star Bucks Cafe in the
Mall that Says, "Welcome Join Us In Creating
A Joyful and Inclusive Space Where We Can

Uplift One Another Over Coffee.

Thank You For
Being Part of Our

Community."

Hey, No Coffee Yet
They Got A Free Sip
of Wine and a Free Wafer
That is Supposedly 'The Body of God;'

And if they Really Believe that Wow What
A Sugar Pill For Potential Healing that Science

Shows Actually
Works; Yawn, Just
A Wafer Instead of a Pill;

Other than that It's the Only
Church in the F in County that
Makes Any Effort For Inclusion
of Gay Folks Hmm... i Might Even
Arrive at the Beginning Next Week

As They've Finally Done a Bit of Repentance...

It's True, It's Just Another Run of the Mill Town Place to Do LoVE iN Peace..:)

what became of old Rick Santorum?

A Catholic who was also a culture warrior.

He is still alive. But you never hear much about him anymore.

His current claim to fame is having a bodily function named after him.

I learn as much vocabulary from the Urban Dictionary as I do from Webster's.

Not really a bodily function, just a frothy byproduct of buttsecks.

THAT much...I knew. :roll:

Even that was coined some years ago.

Dan Savage lives up to his name.

This is the part of his speech that's problematic

Translation: We love our gay brothers and sisters but they are still going to hell :roll:

A note to LGBT minors: A trustworthy adult will never ask you to keep a secret or be "discrete." If a priest is telling you to have discretion, run.

Yes I don't understand what the pope means by delivering discreetly? sermon? confessional? confusing...

I would interpret it as give your blessings in private, rather than performing weddings or publicly granting blessings to same-sex couples.

A priest wanting to give private blessing out of public view?

Translation: I tell your fellow parishioners that you are damned to hell, but if we go to the backroom I'll change my story and bless your union so long as they don't hear me.

Agreed.

We're happy for you, but we'll never officially sanction your relationship because we're afraid of losing the homophobes in our congregation.

Whether or not the we're happy for you is sincere probably comes down to the individual.

We certainly still do. Disagreeing on some issues doesn't mean it's universal.
