Do I ''have'' to toughen up and be ruthless to be a man?

I sometimes feel angry at myself I for feeling almost close to tears and wanting to scream and throw things and kick things around because I get told off for something and people getting upset or angry at me. It makes me feel bad for being sensitive or like I must be a ''push over'' and seem to think that in order to a ''man'', I ''must'' be ruthless, firm and have thick skin. Right now I still feel like fuming at myself because I have sometimes got blocked ears from using earphones despite advice from an ear specialist to use headphones instead for the sake of my ears because earphones will just create more blockages in my ears and I still didn't get any and I started getting defensive and argumentative at some people in my family because I felt like I was being treated like an idiot or a kid.

Headphones can still cause ear blockage, although I imagine the build up would be slower than with ear buds or plugs.
