Fun fact:

There really is a town in northwest Bavaria called "Hammelburg". It really was the site of a German POW camp for allied prisoners.

Patton's son-in-law was held there. So Patton sent a detachment of troops to attack the camp to spring his daughter's husband from the place...the Germans counter attacked...and in the end the camp had even MORE Americans POWs than before. The rare military failure by Patton. But it was in the closing days of the war...so they were all liberated weeks later.

Dont know anything about any zoo there.
